ZG Prep Classic: Saturday Standouts VI

The 6'6" guard can fill a variety of roles on the offensive end of the floor, operating at times as an on-ball creator and at others as an off-ball scorer. He does a nice job of playing off one or two bounces, is a gifted scorer in the mid-range, and has the ability to finish with length at the rim. He continues to display some touch out to the perimeter as a shooter, but impressed this weekend with his desire to score around the rim and his willingness to play through contact. His buckets came in all sorts of ways during this game, showing the offensive versatility that made him a <em>Top 50</em> prospect this summer. He can get his shot off from the perimeter at any time, does a great job of running the floor in transition, and is able to finish at the rim with touch, power, and athleticism. A big, strong, and physical guard, Lum does a great job of making plays in the paint on the offensive end of the floor. He's persistent as a driver, gets into the scoring area, and makes good decisions of when to hunt his or kick it out to teammates. He's got a really quick first step, does a nice job of getting past the initial defender off the bounce, and is a crafty finisher around the rim. He moves off the ball to operate as a primary scorer and shows the ability to make shots in bunches from behind the arc.
