ZG Prep Classic: Friday Standouts II

Long a prospect to watch in New England, Booth looks to be playing more assertively than ever before. He's added significant strength, which is allowing him to assert his presence around the rim, as both a low post scorer and shot blocker. The future <em>Colby Mule</em> has great positional size and a frame that allows him to assert himself physically. I was impressed with his ability to operate on the perimeter, showing good decision making and the ability to initiate DHO actions from the top of the key. Few guards could match Nkugwa's quick first step, something that allowed him to repeatedly getting into the paint off the bounce. His quickness also stands out on the defensive end of the floor, where he does a great job of keeping the ball in front of him while pursuing steals without fouling. Pridgen's physicality and willing to mix it up in the paint stood out as the 6'3" wing does a nice job of using his strength and athleticism to play bigger than his size. Walker first catches the eye pregame, with his above the rim athleticism and incredibly long frame. On the floor, he covers ground quickly, allowing him to be a presence in passing lanes and to erase shots around the rim from the help side. He's a terrific rim runner in transition, has the ability to attack the basket as a straight line driver, and shows a willingness to operate as a ball-mover or screen in the half-court.
