Pridgen, a wing out of the Governor’s Academy, made his impact with his consistent two-way effort. Pridgen’s physicality and willing to mix it up in the paint stood out as the 6’3″ wing does a nice job of using his strength and athleticism to play bigger than his size. He does a great job on the offensive glass, mixes up his speeds as a driver, and has the ability to guard any position on the floor with his combination of quickness and power.

Pridgen is a versatile who guard who impresses on either end of the floor. He did a nice job making plays for his teammates with his passing. Pridgen is an elite defender and thrives collecting steals. He did a nice job touching the paint on the attack and scoring around the bucket. I would like to see him become more of a threat from behind the three point line.

Pridgen, one of the more athletic underclass guards in the region, had a strong summer on the travel circuit with the Mass Rivals. A physical guard that knows how to play on both ends of the floor, Pridgen will be a key piece at Governor’s Academy this winter. Right now, he thrives on the defensive end of the floor, taking full advantage of his athletic gifts. He’s tough at the point of attack, physical with bigger opponents, and has the quickness laterally to stay in front of smaller guards. He’s a good rebounder that can grab and go in transition, making high level plays in the open floor. A lefty, he does a good job of getting downhill off the bounce and finishing through contact at the rim. He’s become a consistent threat to knock down shots from the perimeter and does a good job of running wide and spotting up in transition. The sophomore should take a big leap this year and could be an underclass standout in the NEPSAC.

New E
is an off-ball guard with many athletic and defensive tools to offer. He can already get off the ground and throw it down at the rim in transition. Pridgen’s athleticism also translates to defense as he can go up contest drives to the basket and have a great defensive stance to defend opponents. He racks up a lot of steals this way which is why this is the most impressive part of his game. On offense, Pridgen has a lefty shooting stroke that is very dangerous when left open on the catch, especially in the corners. He should be a name to monitor for coaches and programs because of the athletic and defensive combo he provides, and an offensive jump in future years can bring his game to new levels.
