There's these little moments when watching Murry that make it clear why he already has high major offers. Against BA, it was subtle but quick off the ball movements to flare out wide open to the three point or get to the rim. He has quick twitch ability that makes him a handful for defenders. Add in his shooting and it's easy to see why Murry is one of the best sophomores among a talented Oklahoma bunch. The Panthers are now 3-0 in District and 9-1 against a gauntlet of a schedule.

PCN has a deep cast of rotating guards, which means it's often a different player stepping up every night. The talented Gillispie is in stay ready mode as a key part of their depth. Checked in mid fourth and served up a sweet lob that served as an exclamation point. Had a couple turnovers in the closing moments too, but it didn't cost PCN the game. And should serve as valuable learning experience for a guard with the potential to be a game changer come March.

Stephens has Wewoka off to a 6-1 start, including last night's win over Class 4A Broken Bow. Like his team, he started a bit slow but finished very strong. First stood out when he get skinny on a drive, then hit a tough floater. After that his three point shooting ability carried the day. He has range beyond the high school line. Drained a big one in the fourth that helped put the finishing touches on their comeback. Promising small town scorer.

Deer Creek picked up their first District win and the sophomore was a consistent presence throughout. Knows how to create for himself, by pushing longer defensive rebounds into transition takes. Complete with impressive body control for a still growing sophomore. Nearly got a dunk in transition. Shooting has been his calling card, which he did hit a deep one. But with his long limbs, he should continue to develop into a complete scorer.

A freshman that already can get buckets at the 6A level. Quality shooter from deep. Also chained a crossover into a hesi move to get to the rim late in the third. Had impressed at the freshman showcase with his scoring DNA, and was great to see it already translating at the varsity level. Even took a charge in the contest.

A sophomore who is steadily carving out a role for a BA team that has size but is giving their guards a baptism by fire. It was quite the baptism against a quick, guard based PCN squad. But Sutton already has good poise and feel, especially for a player who is new to varsity. Excited to track Sutton's growth this year, along with his twin brother William.
