GJ Hill set the tone early, tossing an alley-oop to Naas Griffin on the very first play of the game and connecting on another lob to [player_tooltip player_id='2509663' first='Kaiden' last='Gibbs'] later in the first quarter. His feel and confidence in transition were on full display.

Hill thrives in the open floor, whether he's pushing the pace to score it himself or setting up teammates for easy finishes. He also showed his full scoring repertoire — pulling up with rhythm and attacking the rim with purpose. Hill is a dynamic 2027 guard who brings pace, playmaking ability, and creativity. He's a joy to watch play the game

Calvin Lacsamana — 6'0 G | 2027 | Bishop O'Dowd

Calvin Lacsamana delivered one of the most important momentum swings of the game for O'Dowd. With both teams trading leads early, Lacsamana knocked down multiple threes that helped push the Dragons ahead and shift the energy in their favor.

He showed his value as a true two-way contributor. Defensively, he was one of the three players tasked with guarding Branson's star, and he excelled in face-guarding situations — denying touches, disrupting rhythm, and making it difficult for Branson to get the ball back once they broke the press.

His combination of shot-making and disciplined defense played a major role in O'Dowd's win. Along with teammate [player_tooltip player_id='2887430' first='Erick' last='Thome'], who scored all of his points in the 4th quarter. Thome was one of the unsung heroes of the second half just as Lacsamana, bringing toughness, composure, and winning intangibles when O'Dowd needed them most.

Naas Griffin — 6'5 F | 2026 | Bishop O'Dowd

Bishop O'Dowd came into the showcase with one of the most athletic frontcourts in the event — 6'4 [player_tooltip player_id='2509663' first='Kaiden' last='Gibbs'], 6'8 [player_tooltip player_id='1591733' first='Nico' last='Wright'], and 6'5 Naas Griffin — and the trio delivered, combining for at least nine dunks and dominating the paint on both ends. They had a dunk party and block party not inviting anyone else. Their length, bounce, and activity completely changed the game's tempo and physicality.

Naas Griffin had one of the defining plays of the matchup. His emphatic block, which he sent the ball nearly into the stands — came with the score at 51–53 and shifted momentum instantly for good. O'Dowd responded with a 12–1 run midway through the fourth, and Griffin's energy was at the center of it.

Griffin showcased excellent help-side instincts, strong on-ball defense, and the ability to jump passing lanes. Offensively, he attacked the rim with force and let us know that he has a soft touch from the perimeter. His combination of athleticism, timing, and defensive versatility made him one of the key difference-makers in O'Dowd's win.

[player_tooltip player_id='2484354' first='Kaden' last='Fortune'] — 5'11 G | 2028 | Branson

[player_tooltip player_id='2484354' first='Kaden' last='Fortune'] gave Branson an important boost off the bench, providing poise and control against Bishop O'Dowd's aggressive press. His ability to help [player_tooltip player_id='2212735' first='NJ' last='Gray'] navigate pressure was a key reason Branson stayed composed in crucial stretches.

Fortune showed strong composure with the ball, handled traps well, and made sound decisions in the open floor. He knocked down open shots when the defense collapsed and showed he could be aggressive when the team needed another creator on the court.

Furtune is a steady, confident young guard who stepped up and showed why Branson will trust him in high-pressure situations as the season continues

NJ Grey will need more consistent help besides the seniors [player_tooltip player_id='2686625' first='Tyler' last='Wells'] and [player_tooltip player_id='3142826' first='Luke' last='Vilhauer']. It will come it just going to take some time for players like [player_tooltip player_id='2452902' first='Gabe' last='Halbrecht'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2484353' first='Bryce' last='Spears'] to carve out their roles. Losing 2 highly productive players going into the season is hard.

[player_tooltip player_id='2452902' first='Gabe' last='Halbrecht'] 6'3 | G | 2027

Gabe was the energy guy against O'Dowd. He could ended being the glue guy this season. On defense he can guard the best perimeter player. His long arms and quickness allows him to guard multiple positions. He rebounded the ball and defended well this game. Halbrecht naturally has a lot of intangibles skills

On the offensive end he hit long perimeter shots. He's a very capable its just a matter knowing where his shots will come from, whether its corner 3's or late cuts to the rim. He'll figure it out. However, his energy and effort is contiguous and it'll pay dividends this season. Look for Halbrecht to continue being a consistent contributor
