This past weekend we were at the Southern Durham showcase for a monster five game slate in the Bull City. There was a ton of talent on display from all over the State of North Carolina. We've already covered one group, why not another? Let's take a look at this next group of Standouts from the HoopState Southern Durham Showcase.

Minlend is one of the most gifted and versatile players in the class due to his inside/out two way ability. He's got a truly refined mid-range game, great footwork, and a real understanding of where his spots are and how to get there. He can hit the fall away over either shoulder as well. What I loved from him in this game was his work in the two man game as a screener. Minlend is a legit multi-positional defender that is more than capable of making a real difference at that end of the floor. With his ability to do multiple things at both ends of the floor and athletic upside more than obvious, Minlend will start to get recruited by programs around the country.

Kendrick was a key part in Caldwell Academy's win over Jordan High School despite the team being shorthanded with multiple guys out with illness. Kendrick's ability to use his end to end speed + the ability to change speed and direction is what makes him truly special in my book. He's a very very capable finisher around the basket with either hand, we know he can make jumpers with either hand and showed some real consistency in that aspect of his game on Saturday. Kendrick is one of the best guards in NC regardless of class, he can come off the ball when needed but does his best work running the show. He just plays the game with the kind of pace you see from guards at the Collegiate level.

Lowe embraced his homecoming game as the Durham native came out aggressive and locked in for TBS in their dominant win over Durham Academy. Lowe's two calling cards are simple to me, he makes shots and has a real nose for the basketball. The combination of those two things make you valuable and able to fit into any lineup. He makes shots, he rebounds, and competes at both ends to make plays. Far from just a shooter, Lowe can really attack closeouts to make plays at the rim. He can truly keep a defense honest. Lowe is also a high academic kid and should have some Patriot League and Ivy schools on his line over the next handful of months. Lowe's continued development is vital for this TBS group!

Terry is a real stock riser in North Carolina this year and the performance vs Caldwell Academy truly cemented him as one of the top juniors in North Carolina. Terry blends his athleticism with his outside touch to create a real offensive weapon on the wing. Probably more of a forward than a guard, Terry is showing more and more flashes of ability to put it on the floor and make plays. Terry is averaging 16 Points and 7.5 Rebounds per game on 53% shooting from the floor as a junior. In the win vs Concord Academy, Terry finished with 18 and 9 rebounds on 7/10 shooting from the floor. A signature performance from a kid who is really emerging at the right time with The John Wall right around the corner.

Silver was a really strong two way presence for Northern Nash in their win over Riverside on Saturday afternoon. Silver has a great blend of outside touch with rim protection while showing real progression in the other areas of his game. His ability to get out and guard perimeter guys has improved, if he gets beat, he's able to recover and alter the shot. As a low post scorer, his hands look good and he looks decisive around the rim. Silver is a potential gem in NC's 2026 class. His name will undoubtedly continue to get out there as Northern Nash looks poised for a strong playoff run with Silver as the centerpiece of it all.
