A ton of new names emerged at the [program_tooltip program_id='2078408' first='Team' last='Rose'] Shootout over the weekend! Here are a few of the best 2027, 2028, and 2029 breakout prospects.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125615' first='Dion' last='Lane'] (Evanston – 2027)

Lane is a 5'11” point guard that opened our eyes with his ability to push the tempo and live in the paint for Evanston. With his handles, quickness, and creativity he consistently finished in the paint off the bounce and in transition. Great going coast to coast. Also hit a pair of threes for 22 points

Tate Schroeder (Evanston – 2027)

Schroeder also shined for the Wildkits as the 6'3” small forward has a strong frame can really shoot the basketball. Plus shot maker from beyond the arc that made three of them off the catch. High pointed rebounds in traffics for put backs and flashed some slashing as he notched 18 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2499153' first='Jaylen' last='West'] (Hillcrest – 2027)

West goes about 6'2” with a thick frame and long arms. He was impactful rebounding in the paint in addition to using his length on the defensive end to get steals including one he took the other way for an and-1 scoring 9 points.

Michael Hampton (St. Rita – 2027)

At about 6'2” Hampton is a big bodied lefty wing that won on straight line takes off the bounce along with spins in the paint finishing. Probably best though as a spot up shooter connecting on three of them for 14 points. Nose for the basketball!

Nate Stephens (Leo – 2027)

Strong bodied wing that snatches rebounds in traffic for second chance points, seals in the post, and plays with a super high-motor. He had 12 points.

Jhmari Guthrie (Payton – 2027)

The PG from Payton lived in the lane in their contest against St. Laurence. Crafty finisher with floaters, runners, and getting to the charity stripe for 11 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2387442' first='Wes' last='Shelby'] (Lincoln Way East – 2027)

Shelby is a 6'5” four man that has broad shoulders and a great frame. Flashed hitting a three, blocking a couple shots, and showing solid athleticism. Scored 5 points as a glue guy.

Isaac Summers (Lane Tech – 2028)

Summers is a name to watch long term for Lane Tech as a point guard that showed a clean stroke from three draining a pair in their win vs St. Rita.

Kierre Brooks (Leo – 2029)

Brooks is a two guard in the freshman class to keep an eye on. Shot it well from three knocking in a couple along with getting to the line. He had 8 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2422339' first='Jayden' last='Alford'] (Yorkville Christian – 2029)

Younger brother of Tray this shooting guard is definitely worth tracking. Long and rangy frame with projectability. Knocked in a long ball in limited minutes.
