Kabongo has been a welcome spark for Grandview, as he did not play with them in Fall League, but now that his number has been called, he's been delivering. The sophomore is averaging 7.3 points and coming off a 13-point outing against Chaparral that kept them in the game. He's most effective attacking downhill and creating in isolation as he gives the offense a different look. His confidence and consistency have grown quickly, and he's becoming a reliable contributor on this veteran-led team. Keep an eye out for him.

Mostek has made his presence felt early through effort, toughness, and physical play. In limited minutes, he's impacted the game by running the floor, finishing inside, and battling on the glass. The 6'3 wing defends multiple spots, speeds guys up, and competes above his role. The scoring doesn't matter with him; he's shown glue-guy traits that translate directly to winning possessions.

Lewis has been one of the most impactful guards in the conference, setting the tone as Mullen's lead guard and a player that they can rely on. He leads the league in assists while also contributing across the stat sheet with steals and rebounds. His ability to create offense for others, pressure the ball defensively and still score when needed has made him essential. Lewis has looked poised for a breakout with this strong start. He's one of my favorite players to watch in the conference as his unselfishness stands out.

Atieh has maximized his varsity opportunity, emerging as a reliable two-way presence for Grandview. He's averaging 7.2 points and 2.2 steals to begin the season, and he's trusted to defend opposing lead guards and provide offensive stability. He scores inside and out, plays within the flow, and makes smart decisions with the ball. His defensive energy has helped swing momentum in key stretches, and he's a player fighting to stay on the court with contagious energy.

Samson has delivered on early expectations, establishing himself as an X-factor through six games. He's averaging 6.0 points a game, he stretches defenses with his shooting while also attacking closeouts and finishing inside. He plays with feel, keeps possessions alive, and rebounds well for his position. His ability to score in different ways has added another layer to Grandview's offense and continues to turn heads. We want to see him get back in a groove as Grandview is best when he's assertive and making plays happen, but is certainly a player that we've seen stand out to start the year.
