Prospects Shine in December Basketball Showcases Part 2

As the second installment of our DC Gonzaga Classic & National Hoop Festival coverage, Part 2 shifts the spotlight toward a group of under-the-radar prospects who are turning heads with their performances. These emerging players may not have garnered the biggest headlines yet, but their impact on the court signals bright futures ahead. From high-motor floor generals to versatile wings and skilled scorers, each athlete featured here has shown qualities that make them ones to watch as the season unfolds. Dive in to meet the next wave of talent, making noise behind the scenes.    Karon is a smart and crafty playmaker who mixes scoring and distributing nicely. He can break you down off the bounce using quick crossovers and showcases very good quickness. Dangerous off the bounce as a slasher type with a fantastic touch around the rim finishing with either hand. He also hit shots off the dribble     Chase provided the experience and poise for the Eagles to capture there 7 straight DC Gonzaga Classic title. Although his numbers won't explode off the page, it's easy to see the value that Chase brings to this team. He's a tough, scrappy, high-motor guard who provides an unselfish presence on both ends of the floor. Chase truly does all the little things. Whether it's diving for a loose ball, quickly making the extra pass, or making plays defensively, he consistently steps up. Peterson knows how to fill in the gaps and impact the game without needing to score. His constant energy and involvement in the action make him an asset.     An intriguing lefty wing. Impress with his all-around skill set. Looked comfortable playing in space and ability to guard multiple positions using his length and showed some versatile scoring chops. Nkaka is a versatile and valuable piece for his team, bringing a flexible skill set that allows him to impact the game in multiple roles. He moves well off the ball, can create mismatches with his size, and scores efficiently both inside the paint and from the perimeter. His ability to be used all over the floor makes him a tough matchup, as he blends scoring touch with positional versatility to keep defenses off balance.     Smooth young guard… He's a long, wiry wing with excellent shooting ability and a useful blend of skills. Jamison found success through his ability to knock down jumpers from the perimeter, applying pressure from both midrange and beyond the arc. He attacked closeouts as needed and made solid decisions with the ball in his hands but was comfortable operating as a spot-up threat.     Raue showcased a polished, all-around game with the size, feel, and creation instincts. He stood out as their main source of offense but appeared comfortable finding chances as an on or off-ball threat. Raue consistently created for others and scored the ball from all levels. I look for Raue to continue to improve and get stronger and develop into a consistent perimeter shooter.     London is an emerging two-way player with considerable potential. He demonstrated proficiency both on and off the ball, indicating a strong comfort level in multiple roles. Look for Landon to be a household name in the Midwest around this time next year.
