I spent the weekend in Brooklyn, NY at the Made Hoops' Jordan Holiday Classic. High-level teams from the Northeast and beyond competed in showcase games over 2 games in 2 different gyms in front of college scouts, media members, and NBA personnel. Point guard prospects can impact the game in a variety of ways as a play-maker, 2-way player, scorer, or shooter. In this article we'll dive into the different type of floor general prospects that stood out to me over the weekend. Let's dive in!

-Our newly-minted #1 prospect really lit it up in the 1H with 19 at the break, then used that scoring gravity to find teammates on the block or in the corners to build Carroll's lead in the 2H. In the 2H alone Brown hit two C+S above the break 3s, had a pull-up tre off the bounce, and got out in transition before hitting the and1 floater to put the game away late. His value to his team cannot be understated as both the primary shot-maker and play-maker for a Carroll group that has played in several big games this season.

-Cannady battled through flu-like symptoms to step up for his team in a marquee matchup with Link Academy. The UMass Lowell commit hit a Corner C+S 3 to start a run to get the Warriors back into the game, squared up off the catch and got his matchup off balance with a jab before knocking down a three, then forced a TO by undercutting the inbounder just before they caught the pass after scoring in the paint. His shooting and moxie down the stretch played a big role in keeping the game close on a day where his team didn't shoot well from the floor.

-Came away admiring Thompson's ability to play on or off the ball as a guard prospect with great feel. Thompson attacks closeouts well, is very efficient in his shot selection, makes sure to find his bigs and his shooters in transition, and plays with great pace off the bounce. Love the way that he reads the defense before attacking closeouts to know where to draw the help defenders to create an open look for his teammate. Being that efficient even in shortened minutes after his team grew big leads impressed the courtside college coaches and scouts in attendance.

-Bolding started off the 2H hot with two C+S threes and a transition layup to help Carroll extend their lead from 2 points to 9. He did a great job of finding his bigs in transition and getting diagonal drives across the court after catching the ball on the wing. Loved the way that he applied ball pressure at the POA and played with physicality navigating screens to force turnovers and deflections throughout the matchup. Want to see more consistency out of him on a nightly basis at the offensive end as his production will be crucial to the Lions' success in big games this season.

-Might have the fastest hands in America as an absolute gnat of a defender, controlling game flow with his POA ball pressure. His vision is continuing to improve and he's finding opportunities to get to his spots in the half court. His ability to burst through gaps in the defense is essential for a Quakers team that had a great weekend despite missing their senior leader. Love the improvements that he's made to his pull-up jumper from the elbows to force defenders to not play the driving lanes and stay home to get a hand up.

-Almost singlehandedly brought his Oak Ridge team back against Carroll with some really elite perimeter shot-making off the bounce. Bynoe came alive in the 2H to hit a stepback 2 from the corner, dribbled off a fade screen straight into a 3 from the left wing, knocked down a C+S corner 3, hit a 1-dribble pull past a hard closeout-- just didn't give up on his team despite the deficit. Loved that Bynoe shot the same shot whether it was contested or wide open, getting into his shooting form quickly off the bounce or off the catch. Will be an underrated name to watch in 2027.
