December's update brings fresh movement in the 2027 landscape as several new names make their debut. Early-season play, growth over the past few months, and strong fall showings have helped these prospects earn a spot on the board. This breakdown introduces the newest additions and why their emergence matters heading into the new year.

The highest-ranked new addition to the Prep Hoops SC 2027 Rankings is [player_tooltip player_id='2920277' first='Idreyiss' last='Hoist']. Hoist is one of several Goose Creek Guards throughout the rankings, a school with tons of recent success in developing that position. Idreyiss sat out last season after moving from out of state, but it's been easy to see his long-term potential with his positional size, three-level scoring, and improving playmaking, even in a small sample size compared to some of the others around him.

Another player who is starting to play his best basketball after making a move in schools is Cylan. He has fit in extremely well with the Redhawks so far, averaging a team-high 13.8 points per game across a 6-0 start to the season. McLeod's role has primarily been as a 3 & D Wing, as he's shooting 53% from three on 2.8 attempts per game, while also putting up nearly 2 steals a night. It's more than just numbers with Cylan, though; he passes the eye-test by always making the right play.

Smith and the Stratford Knights are another player-team combination that is off to an impressive start to the season. He's putting up 24.3 Points Per Game, and the Knights are 4-1, which is more than double his numbers a season ago and halfway to their win total a season ago. Smith stood out to me at the SCBCA Elite Camp with his scoring ability, but also a defensive presence with tons of energy on that end. Keep an eye on Herman as a potential All-State player if he continues on this trajectory.

One of the more unknown big men in the 2027 Rankings is Ogelle-Igallo. Abraham is currently the backup five for the Cavaliers, a team that is projected to be one of the last teams standing in Class 5A Division 1. He is still very raw from a prospect standpoint, but he plays hard, has good athleticism, and can even knock down a face-up jumper.

[player_tooltip player_id='2979710' first='Eian' last='Adams'] is a two-sport star at Richland Northeast, and now debuts in the Prep Hoops SC Class of 2027 Rankings at #110 Overall and the #4 Center. Listed at 6'7" 280 lbs, Adams has tons of size to dominate on the hardwood. He still has some development needed to be the best basketball prospect he can be, but there's no doubting the size, motor, and skill close to the rim.

McClain will be one of the key guys in the future for the Red Devils. He is a versatile piece at this level who can guard multiple positions, including smaller 2A bigs. Griffin is usually a very active player on the defensive end of the floor, both on the glass and in creating turnovers, so if he develops a consistent perimeter shot, he will be a real talent.

Noel has stood out to me on multiple occasions, going back to the start of the Spring with FCA Upstate. He doesn't have the biggest role on the current Byrnes squad, but he could develop into a key rotation player later in this season and beyond. His size and shooting ability are what will earn him minutes, but he doesn't always play with the speed needed in the Runnin' Rebels offense.

Rounding out the list of New Additions to the Prep Hoops SC Class of 2027 Rankings is [player_tooltip player_id='2971037' first='Jameir' last='Brown']. Brown caught my eye with a really good day of practice back in September, and he has the chance to make a name for himself in his Junior Season. Jameir has intriguing length and is a skilled player; it's just about being consistent day-in, day-out and adding a little bit of size to his frame.
