Basha/St Mary’s Notes

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><span style="margin: 0px;padding: 0px">On&nbsp;<strong>December 4th</strong>, in&nbsp;<strong>Central Phoenix,&nbsp;</strong>two of the state's better teams,</span> <strong>St. Mary's </strong>and <strong>Basha</strong>, went to battle. It was an action-filled game that went back and forth the entire game. <strong>Basha</strong> was scrappy and physical the whole game. The game wasn't decided until the final few minutes when <strong>St Mary's</strong> secured the win by knocking down their free throws. The final score was 84-78 with <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Mary's</strong> coming out on top. On offense, he scored from a variety of spots on the floor. He showed a back-to-the-basket game as well as a face-up game. At times, he got the rebound, brought the ball upcourt, and initiated the offense. He got to the lane at will, either finishing with acrobatic layups near the rim or dropping off dimes to teammates. His explosion and aggressiveness kept defensers guessing. He wisely picked his spots offensively, taking only shots within the flow of the offense. He also used his body very well to keep defenders at a disadvantage. He shot the ball with range and confidence. When he couldn't shoot from the perimeter, he attacked the gaps in the defense, creating opportunities for others. Even when a taller player guarded him, the release on his shot was quick enough to get it off with no problems.
