I wrote about [player_tooltip player_id='2477281' first='DJ' last='Hunter'] just last week, and since then he's continued to strengthen his case as one of the best guards in the 2029 class on the West Coast. The 4A Losee guard followed up a 31-point performance against Rancho by pouring in 33 points in a win over 5A Sierra Vista. Showing real comfort against older, more physical competition. Hunter plays with poise beyond his years, using his handle, shot-making ability, and pace to consistently create offense despite defensive attention. He's currently averaging 23.5 PPG as the Lions sit at 4–1, with their only loss coming to 5A Liberty.

[player_tooltip player_id='2918862' first='Benjamin' last='Brown'] and the Mater East Knights sit at 2–2 on the season, with Brown already flashing his elite scoring ability early on. He's topped 15 points in three of the Knights' first four games, with a current high of 20 points coming against Basic Academy. And he had an efficient performance in the game I saw against Mojave, going 6-for-9 from the field. Watching him play, it's clear Brown understands how to get to his spots and has the confidence to knock down shots from anywhere on the floor. As he continues to gain valuable varsity experience, expect his impact and consistency to trend upward as the season progresses.

[player_tooltip player_id='2624906' first='Damari' last='Sawall'] is also off to a stellar start for Mater East, making an impact as both a scorer and primary distributor. He's currently averaging 12.3 PPG and 7.3 APG, using his court vision and instincts to operate with an advanced feel for the game. Sawall does a nice job using his deceptive handles to slip past defenders and finish around the rim. Beyond his offensive production, he's contributing on the glass at around 7.3 RPG while adding roughly two steals per game. Overall, he's consistently filling up the stat sheet. And his all-around impact should continue as the Knights head into the Tark Classic and conference play.

[player_tooltip player_id='2918858' first='Brevynn' last='Johnson'] has made several strong impressions since the last rankings update, highlighted by his selection to the Top 30 Game at the Frosh/Soph Pangos All-American Camp. He also flashed during Fall League play, making a number of eye-catching plays. The explosive 2029 combo guard plays with elite vertical pop, consistently elevating to finish above the rim or sky for rebounds. Given his athletic tools and scoring upside, it feels like only a matter of time before his overall game takes another step forward.

New to the rankings, [player_tooltip player_id='3243647' first='Nya'Vari' last='Floyd-Johnson'] debuts at #5, immediately standing out as a fierce competitor. He combines high basketball IQ, quick handles, and elite speed to consistently generate offense. On the other end of the court, he is a scrappy, gritty defender who often applies ball pressure. Floyd-Johnson is currently averaging 19.9 PPG and 7.4 RPG, and his talent and versatility make him one to watch as his game continues to evolve.

Gorman guard, [player_tooltip player_id='2918899' first='Kortell' last='Price'] impressed during a couple of fall appearances. He's a dynamic offensive player, blending shooting, creativity, and the ability to make tough finishes around the basket. Defensively, Price shows active hands, getting into passing lanes and sparking transition when he comes up with steals. While he isn't on varsity this season, he has plenty of upside.

[player_tooltip player_id='2918902' first='Alyo' last='Hawkins Jr.'] is already turning heads with the Sunrise Mountain Miners. He uses his basketball IQ and court awareness to create offense, whether by generating his own shot or delivering precise passes to rack up assists. Hawkins also contributes on the glass and shows the ability to push the pace once he secures a rebound. He's currently averaging 16.1 PPG, 3 RPG, and 2.8 APG, and his playmaking makes him a player to watch the rest of the winter.
