The biggest news in Ohio's 2028 class is the return of [player_tooltip player_id='2842428' first='Kameron' last='Mercer'], the Cincinnati native who was previously at Overtime Elite playing with fellow greater Cincinnati star Taylen Kinney on Rod Wave Elite. Mercer is in the OHSAA for the first time in his career, playing with Cincinnati Princeton. Mercer joins a team that should compete for conference and state titles and immediately vaults into the top spot in the Ohio rankings as Mercer is regarded as a top 15 player in the country.

Our top 2 players from last update stay in the same order as [player_tooltip player_id='2461889' first='Dylan' last='Zeigler'] of Lutheran East and [player_tooltip player_id='2822495' first='Keonte' last='Smith'] of Dayton Northridge sit at second and third now. Zeigler is playing a primary scoring role for the Falcons after they lost numerous players to transfer. Lutheran East has won three straight state titles and it's on Zeigler's shoulders to try and win a fourth. Smith helped Dayton Northridge go unbeaten last year in Three Rivers Conference play and recently announced a move to [program_tooltip program_id='2320052' first='All' last='Ohio Red'] at the grassroots level for this spring and summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='2751440' first='Xavier' last='Jones'] jumps to fourth in our rankings as the Westerville South wing has had a tremendous start to his sophomore season. [player_tooltip player_id='2195059' first='Chris' last='Poellnitz III'], [player_tooltip player_id='2195056' first='Max' last='Joiner'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2194986' first='Jashawn' last='Coffey'] round out the top 7 as these prospects continue to perform at a high level and attract interest and offers from Division I programs.
