We are near the halfway point of the season as most teams have played 10+ games by now and we're less than 2 months from district tournaments and the march towards Rupp Arena. Our rankings are being updated once again and next up is the Junior class. Here's a look at the top 5 players in the latest edition of 2027 class rankings.

Montez remains in the top spot in this update and is having a really strong start to his Junior season at GRC. Averaging 18 points and 7 rebounds per game, Gay is among the most college ready athletes in the state, even though he's just a Junior. He's shooting the three at 37% this year and making two per game. If he can get to the free throw line more often, his game will go up another level.

Braxton is the best pure scorer in the state, in my opinion. Averaging 32 points per game with 55/49/84 shooting splits through 11 games, Keathley has shown the ability to score and facilitate against anyone. Possessing great size at either guard spot, Keathley and Gay are interchangeable at the top spot at this point. Both have high major potential, in my opinion.

Brown is having a huge season for a DuBois team that is off to their best start in program history. Averaging 29 points per game with splits of 59/35/81, Ja'Rye continues to be my pick as the best 1 on 1 scorer in the state, regardless of class. He also thrives on getting to the free throw line and is one of the best in the state at converting several trips per game.

Langhi continues to be the best player in Kentucky that most people haven't heard of. Matthew has legitimate size and is super skilled. Schools as big as Illinois have been recruiting him but most basketball fans in Kentucky don't know his name yet. Langhi is averaging 30 points per game through 11 games this year and is living at the free throw line. He averages a remarkable 8 free throw makes per game while shooting 88% from the line.

Jack has been one of the best players in this class for several years now and is possibly the most consistent of the bunch. A big wing scorer, Logsdon's threes have not been falling like usual so far this season but he is among the top free throw shooters in the state. Logsdon is asked to do a lot for Grayson County but he's up to the task and if he continues playing at the level he has been, Grayson will be right in the mix for a 3rd region championship in March.
