We are near the halfway point of the season as most teams have played 10+ games by now and we're less than 2 months from district tournaments and the march towards Rupp Arena. Our rankings are being updated once again and next up is the Junior class. Here's a look at some new names in the latest edition of 2027 class rankings.

One of the hardest playing guards in the class, Johnson has always had the physical tools and the demeanor to be a lockdown defender. As a Junior, JaMylyn has become a much more consistent offensive player. He's averaging 10 points and 4 rebounds per game with solid, though unspectacular, shooting percentages. One of the more overlooked prospects in this class, Johnson makes his debut at 28th in the class.

The North Oldham guards get a lot of the headlines but Bradley is a key piece for them as he provides an interior force. David thrives in the dunkers' spot on offense but has shown he won't hesitate to put up a three pointer when open, too. As his perimeter skills develop, Bradley should prove himself to be a really good 8th region player and potentially a college prospect, long term.

Butler is super balanced on offense and Tinsley is another of their experienced guards who is capable of getting 12-15 points per game, every game. Steven thrives as a slasher off the wing and is capable of getting to the free throw line multiple trips per contest. He enters the rankings at 126th overall and should move up as his three point shooting improves.

Elza got some love this week thanks to hitting a 3/4 court shot at the Lexington Catholic tournament. He's having a great season overall and has shown himself to be amongst the best shooters in the 13th region. Shooting 46% from range and 75% at the free throw line, Cooper is proving to be a valuable secondary offensive option next to [player_tooltip player_id='1558733' first='Reece' last='Davidson'].

Capable of putting up a double-double nearly any night out, Elam enters the rankings at 139 and has the potential to keep climbing. Braden is an efficient scorer on the low block, shooting nearly 60% from the field. An abysmal free throw shooter, if Elam can improve his free throw percentages (currently 28% on the year) then he should be averaging 12+ points per game. If he doesn't start shooting better from the line, teams may employ the "Hack-A-Elam".
