Preseason showdown in Plant City

Sickles is starting their season with phenom guard [player_tooltip player_id='2082230' first='Chase' last='Weismiller'] out with injury. Sickles' offense didn't disappoint at all. Point Guard [player_tooltip player_id='3076096' first='Bobby' last='Buccino'] was dominating on both sides of the floor. Durant hung within ten points all the way through the third quarter. Sickles in the fourth just pulled away and closed it out. Durant does have some bright spots this season as well. Senior point guard Niko Collins played with great poise and kept turnovers to a bare minimum. Sophomore small forward [player_tooltip player_id='3067022' first='Jamarcus' last='Randall'] used his athletic bounce to block many layups in the paint. He capitalized at the end of the game with a big showtime dunk for the crowd to enjoy.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Game 2 featured Plant versus Plant City. Plant's offense was a well-oiled machine of basketball. Plant Panthers pass extremely well, and have great decision-making on what shot to take. Their team chemistry is impressive, and they will be a very hard team to beat this season. Plant City had some young guards on the court getting their starts on varsity this season. Two key players, Tavere Miller and Simeon Hoga, are still in football season and weren't on the court last night. This young plant city team under a new head coach will improve week to week. Plant in this matchup was too much for Plant City to handle. Bobby is an incredible ball handler and playmaker. His speed allows him to have his way with the defense. Buccino can score at will or provide easy buckets for his teammates. He can defend full court man and keep guards at bay. Young's speed and grit make him an incredible defender who causes a ton of turnovers and transition buckets. Akiem is also a knock-down shooter from mid-range and beyond the arc.
