On Monday, November 3rd we released our updated and expanded Prep Hoops Indiana Class of 2028 Prospect Rankings. Over the course of the last few months we have continued to evaluate across summer grassroots events, fall showcases and leagues, and our travels to specific high schools to watch their preseason workouts. As always, we look to update our rankings every few months and we wanted to get this latest update done before the start of the upcoming high school season. We were able to expand a big from ranking the Top 35 to the Top 50 while adding over 50 prospects in total bringing the Class of 2028 database to nearly 500 prospects. Over the course of this week we will be diving deeper into the rankings by highlighting stock-risers, new names, top watch list names, and much more. Let's dive on in.

We had Collins at our Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp in the fall and he really stood out as a playmaker. He is very quick with the ball in his hands, consistently wins one-on-one battles, and can score the ball off of the dribble as well. The 6'0" guard has some explosiveness as a finisher and has flashed his perimeter shooting ability at times too. Look for Collins to have a breakout sophomore season at Scecina Memorial High School. He is definitely a piece that will help them in the backcourt. Collins debuts on our Watch List in this update and will make a push for the rankings as we continue to expand them.

There is a ton of upside to get excited about with this prospect. Admittedly, if we had a chance to evaluate him a bit more in person, there is chance he would already be ranked. However, we definitely wanted to get the Dupont Manual transfer onto the Watch List. Seeing the 6'7" left-handed forward/center at Jeffersonville High School is certainly a priority. He is a very impactful defensive player proving himself at a high level throughout the summer. Crosby can finish up around the rim offensively with a knack for scoring on the rim run and the roll. He has advanced footwork and overall fluidity for his size and age. Look for him to be a useful piece in Jeffersonville High Schools frontcourt this winter.

Prep Hoops Indiana had the opportunity to go down and watch a fall workout at Silver Creek High School a few weeks ago. The Dragons are the preseason number one team in Class 3A featuring to Division I commits in the senior class, a highly recruited Division I point guard in the junior class, and several other college prospects. However, there are some up-and-coming young guys to be excited about as well. Makun is a 6'5" forward that will be among the "next up" group for the Dragons. He is a bouncy interior presence with good hands and feet on the low block. His ability to score it inside and clean the defensive glass is very intriguing.

Rivera is a perfect example of A) why we host events like the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp and B) why we like to regularly update and expand our rankings and Watch List. For one reason or another we missed him throughout his freshman year. However, he burst onto the scene at our Sophomore ID Camp as one of the most impressive guards in attendance. The Portage High School point guard was electric as a playmaker showcasing the ability to score it in a variety of ways off of the bounce while also making plays for his teammates consistently. Look for him to really emerge as a backcourt prospect for Portage in the coming years.

Beech Grove High School has a very talented sophomore class with this 5'10" point guard being one of three guys that played major varsity roles as a freshman. Ruth is a lightning quick playmaker that can get end-to-end in transition or beat his man in one-on-one situations in the half court. He is a guy that will routinely get paint touches and then make the right play based on whatever read he is given. Ruth is at his best right now as a playmaker for others, but his offensive game is certainly showing some flashes as we saw when attending a recent workout at Beech Grove. We have him on our Watch List now and are excited to watch his game continue to grow.

There is a loaded senior class at Columbia City High School this season and expectations are high. However, sophomore point guard [player_tooltip player_id='3040511' first='Ian' last='St. John'] is going to be a big reason for their success as well. He might be small, but he is super competitive and fearless as a driver. St. John creates space off of the bounce, makes tough pull-up jump shots, and runs the show for all of the talent around him. We had the chance to see him up close when attending a workout at Columbia City and came away very impressed.
