About Lorensen: A smooth lefty scorer who makes everything on the offensive end look effortless, Lorensen is one of the best pure scorers the state has seen since Bowen Born. He moves exceptionally well without the ball in his hands, has a silky smooth stroke from anywhere on the floor off both the dribble and the catch, and he's remarkably efficient. He doesn't take bad shots, knows how to get to his spots, and has steadily improved as a playmaker off the dribble. His peripheral stats aren't on the same level as several of the other players who will be included in this countdown, but his ability to fill it up in the blink of an eye, and do so on limited shots, makes him a real viable candidate. He has committed to play his college ball at Upper Iowa.

Why he can win Mr. Basketball: ADM will enter the season as one of the top teams in Class 3A, with a real chance at winning the state title. If they are going to do so, it will be in large part because of Lorensen and his ability to take over games as a scorer. After averaging 24.3 points per game as a junior, it's not out of the realm of possibility for him to push close to 30 a night on a loaded and explosive Tigers team, and if he's able to hit that plateau, he'll garner plenty of attention.
