We are breaking down the conferences across the state previewing the upcoming season. Here is our look at the Mid-Illini Conference!

East Peoria

For the first time in a while the preseason team to beat will not be Metamora. East Peoria has the #2 junior in the state in [player_tooltip player_id='2125674' first='Quinton' last='Kitt'] who has emerged as a top 150 prospect in the country. He is a long and rangy wing that has good strength along with versatility to play multiple positions. With [program_tooltip program_id='2078449' first='Meanstreets' last=''] he played the glue guy, but as we have seen with East Peoria last year he can take over games with his scoring, defense, and complete game. Cole Dubois is his running mate at the point. High IQ guard that plays with swagger shooting it well and setting up others. [player_tooltip player_id='2632017' first='Kaylen' last='Hardy'] is an intriguing upside prospect on the wing.

The Redbirds lost a lot, but they have two great pieces to build around in [player_tooltip player_id='2751060' first='Brady' last='Jones'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2916010' first='Sam' last='Koch']. Jones got a lot of run last year on varsity being a key player for them. Now it is his team! Strong bodied small forward that has a feathery shot from deep and impacts the game across the board being consistently productive as a defender along with rebounding. [player_tooltip player_id='2916010' first='Sam' last='Koch'] brings athletic pop on the wing and showed at the Sophomore ID Camp he has what it takes to be the second best player on this team.

Morton and Washington

These are two programs that just win games at a high level. Morton in particular lost a ton, but we know they will get their 20+ wins as usual with [player_tooltip player_id='2734458' first='Alex' last='McKie'] leading the way. Washington will be pushed by [player_tooltip player_id='2749984' first='James' last='Johnson'] who is a strong combo forward that will be a great fit at the small college level.
