Buckshot O’Brien Classic: Two-Way Forces

The Buckshot O'Brien Classic delivered two days of high-level basketball on both ends of the floor, with several players separating themselves through effort, versatility, and complete production. Whether it was shot–blocking, defensive playmaking, efficient scoring, or controlling the game's momentum, this group impacted every possession they were involved in. These five set the tone all weekend and showed why two-way reliability matters just as much as scoring.    At 6'9, Geiger changed the dynamics of the floor. His length erased shots in the paint and deterred drivers all game. Offensively, he showed his growing versatility, handling, shooting, and serving as a hub who can see over the defense and deliver the right pass. He continues to trend upward as a do-it-all forward.     Bryant opened his senior season with a statement performance, knocking down multiple threes early and showcasing his improved perimeter touch. Defensively, he was dominant. An elite shot blocker with a 40-inch vertical and the lateral quickness to stay in front of smaller players. Already holding a McNeese State offer, he looks every bit like a Division I defender.     Fisher was everywhere on the defensive end, using elite timing and instincts to block shots as a guard, something few players can do consistently. His activity disrupted offensive rhythm, and he set the tone with constant pressure. When Fisher's locked in, he changes possessions before they even start. Fisher finished with 2 blocks and 2 steals in a 65-63 thriller against East Lake.     Bergantino stood out for the second straight week, again bringing offensive production while making an even bigger mark defensively. He attacked the rim, knocked down perimeter shots, and put together one of the event's most impressive defensive performances, forcing turnovers, blocking shots, and directing the back line with clear, loud communication.     The 6'5 230 lb forward brought power and polish inside, finishing around the rim with soft touch and sealing deep position to create high-percentage opportunities. Defensively, Johnson protected the paint with length and moved his feet well when switched. His passing ability adds another layer to his game, and he shined on Day 2 against a strong Calvary interior.
