Earlier this week, Prep Hoops South Carolina debuted the 2029 Watch List. It featured several highly-touted young prospects from all over the state, but here are just five of those prospects who could intrigue colleges coaches in the very early stages of their recruiting cycle.

[player_tooltip player_id='2948744' first='Charlie' last='Cothran'] (T.L. Hanna) - The first intriguing prospect that I will highlight in this article is [player_tooltip player_id='2948744' first='Charlie' last='Cothran']. Cothran is listed as a 6'5" big on Varsity for the T.L. Hanna Yellow Jackets, a team with tons of size on the roster this season. However, Charlie is as bright as any of them and has a great package of back-to-the-basket moves for his age. He initially caught my eye during the summer with [program_tooltip program_id='2415221' first='Upward' last='Stars Upstate'], so he's a potential [program_tooltip program_id='2078752' first='Upward' last='Stars 3SSB'] player in 2026.

[player_tooltip player_id='2816511' first='Khiry' last='White'] (Irmo) - White is one of two players in this list whom I've already seen so far this season. He was inserted into the starting lineup from the jump, simply because of his length, athleticism, and work ethic. There are few players who work harder on defense than Khiry, but match that with physical attributes, and you can see why he is one to watch. There is some room for growth as a shooter and playmaker on offense, but it's way too early to count him out for those reasons.

[player_tooltip player_id='2957391' first='Noah' last='Marcum'] (Andrew Jackson) - Like White, I caught up with Marcum early this season, and he is starting as a Freshman for the Andrew Jackson Volunteers. What makes Noah a key part of his team is his perimeter shooting. Because of how many drivers and physical bodies the Volunteers have, Marcum will get a big volume of three-point shots as opponent defenses collapse. Marcum did have a few lapses once he put the ball on the floor, but that will only improve with experience at this level.

[player_tooltip player_id='2855071' first='Jordan' last='Brockington'] (Wilson) - Jordan was on the roster last year for the Tigers and should see a similar role again in 2025-26. He is an excellent on-ball defender who moves his feet well and will be asked to bring a level of scrappiness in his minutes this season. On the offensive end, Brockington is a well-drilled finisher who plays through contact and has impressive footwork when looking to score at the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='2872903' first='Deux' last='Greene'] (St. Joseph's) - Rounding out this group of five intriguing prospects in the new 2029 Watch List is [player_tooltip player_id='2872903' first='Deux' last='Greene']. Greene is already off to a strong start for St. Joseph's this year, including a 14-point showing in game number two. He also has some early exposure outside of the state, thanks to how he performed on the EYBL Jr. Circuit. Deux will get plenty of opportunities to handle the ball and learn how to break down defenses from a young age in Greenville.
