Out of the many games that Deux was involved in, don’t think he broke a sweat. That’s how poised and relaxed he was at the guard position. He always has his head up looking for open teammates and typically gets the ball ahead quickly to put the defense in non-advantageous situations.

The passing was an A+. From no look bounce passes to off hand cross court passes to the shooters shooting pocket, Deux showcased it all. Scoring was easy for him, especially in isolation and pick and roll sets. He has good elevation on his jumper and was nearly automatic in the mid-range area. A guards ability to get his team involved and score when needed is a big plus when evaluating them. Deux showed why he was one of the best rising sophomores in the state with his blend of playmaking and shot making at a high level.

He received 38% of the votes, edging out second place by 13%. Greene might be only a sophomore, but his impact as a true Point Guard will be crucial to the success of the Laurens Raiders this year. He is a calming presence when he’s on the floor, dictating pace, limiting turnovers, and setting up teammates with good looks, so he should be able to raise the floor of a team that has had high highs and low lows deep in the season over the past few years.

Another 2029 Point Guard who made a move this offseason is Greene. Deux is now in Laurens, and he has the potential to be the missing piece for the Raiders. He is an excellent distributor offensively and could be the catalyst in connecting all of their talented pieces.

Greene is another player in this list who is already experienced running the offense for his High School. The Knights quietly had an excellent season in Class 3A, with their freshman PG being a huge reason why. So far, Deux is one of the more impactful guards on the defensive end of the floor, but he is also more than capable of facilitating in the pick-and-roll, finishing around the trees, or pulling up off the dribble.

He looked like he was playing at a different speed compared to the competition at times, which is something rare for a Freshman Point Guard. Deux had an impressive balance of scoring and facilitating in the win over Travelers Rest, putting up 15 points and 6 assists. Not only can he turn the corner and get into the lane off pick-and-roll looks, but Greene is also a capable jump shooter off the dribble and the catch when his feet are set. He will even apply frequent ball pressure past the timeline, making him a true all-around player for this group.
