Our class of 2028 rankings dropped today (link can be found here, with 150 different prospects from Washington DC and Maryland making their way into our rankings--with 54 new prospects added to the site for the sophomore class. This one was a little tricky due to some prospects competing on varsity last year while others showed what they can do at the junior varsity level. In this article we will break down a few of our new additions to this rankings update. Let's dive in!

-Like the skill development that I've seen from Taylor as a young wing prospect with the tools to eventually be a high level recruit. Taylor has great positional size, long arms, and moves pretty well for a young prospect that is still growing. The handle and C+S ability on the wings continue to improve but we're likely a year or so away from seeing Taylor put it all together on the floor. With his work ethic and drive, I'd expect him to pop in the next year or so as a local name that needs to be known in the 2028 class.

-Jones plays like a coach's son. His innate feel and the patience/calm in his processing in chaotic situations stands out as a young prospect that isn't really afraid of the moment. Liked the progressions I've seen from him even since the spring as a playmaker, he's delivering more well-placed and well-timed passes in pocket pass feeds or skips along the baseline. Jones can also really shoot it from beyond the arc as a guard that doesn't need a whole lot of space to get his shot off. Expect a much bigger role for the young guard this season as a shooter that they fly off of screens and as a secondary ball handler in the halfcourt.

-The skill progression and body development over the past year serve as positive indicators of future success as Parikh is moving better out there on the floor. The improvements to his conditioning and the increasing fluidity of his lateral movements should allow him to earn himself more playing time this season. But the biggest skill that he brings to the table is his ability to shoot it with range with improved footwork coming off of pindowns or staggers. Already standing at 6'5 and under the direction of one of the best coaches in the country-- I'm betting on the long term upside here.

-Didn't get a ton of chances to see him this summer but came away impressed by his performance down at the CBG JUCO/Prep event last weekend. A combo guard that gets to his spots in the halfcourt with a herky jerky but effective change of pace, I liked his decision-making off the bounce in split second passing windows. Johnson has a great understanding for when to stunt at the ball or jump passing lanes to collect steals and switches ends of the floor very quickly. Excited to see him develop at Tech Prep as there will be minutes available for him to earn this season as a key cog for this group.

-Super athletic off guard prospect burst onto the scene with a strong weekend of play at The Challenge and in Bowie later in the month. Woodard uses his athleticism to jump passing lanes, serve as a dynamic prospect both on the ball and running the lanes in transition with his ability to shoot and play above the rim. Like his aggressiveness as a slasher in the halfcourt. He never really backs down when his defender cuts off his path to the rim, he just uses a retreat dribble then goes right back to trying to get two feet in the paint. Excited to see how he is utilized in a DEEP Springdale Prep rotation.
