With the 2026 rankings release came plenty of movement across the board. We made it a point to get out and see as many prospects as possible, watched film and spoke to coaches about this class as we head into senior year. Here are players who rose in the update.

Andrews is one of the state's premier athletes as the CSU football commit has become a primary name on the gridiron as one of the state's best QBs. But, he is also a hooper! I am curious to see if he's going to give it one last push to bring a state championship to the school for basketball before he heads up to Fort Collins. On the court, he plays with the same kind of precision and makes high-IQ plays. He's the team's best rebounder as he put up 7.4 boards a game and also protects the paint with just under 2 blocks a game as well. His ability to affect the game with his rebounding makes Ralston Valley one of the top teams as they have an inside-out attack as he carves up defenses. He also scores with ease as he put up 10.6 points a game to go along with it. He's a difference-maker who gives them the best chance at bringing home the trophy, and they will need his presence as a bucket-getting, big board securing inside presence. He rises in the rankings as one of the state's top bigs.

Drake is a menace on the court that affects the game on both ends of the floor. He's also arguably the most passionate player that the state offers as he leaves it all other there. We got to see that this summer on the ciruit, but also at a few different showcases. Fossil Ridge will be one of my darkhorse teams to win it all this season, and Walker is a big reason for that. He's a scoring guard that reads what defenses gives him, he has stretches that he dominates and cannot be contained, and he also makes plays for those around him. He finishes well inside and can stretch the floor. He led the team in scoring as a junior with 12.8 points and I think he goes well over that this season. For a guy who is so locked in defensively, we want to see him be even more aggressive this year as he's one of the state's better defenders. He needs to be a guy who turns guys over more, pressures higher, and turns those defensive possessions into steals and points the other way. Once Drake starts to use his physicality to his advantage on both ends, it will only make the game that much easier. He's a dog and truly one of the few that the state has – show that in EVERY single showing. He makes the rise in the rankings, but still think he is only scratching the surface of what's to come.

Brody is one of the class's most gifted scorers as he put up double figures in every single game with a couple of 30-point outings as well. As a junior, he scored 22 points a game and had 5.2 rebounds to go along with it as well. He led his team to wins and was the top guy in almost every category. We wish we saw more of him this summer, but when we did, he stood out as a facilitator and floor spacer who can light it up from deep. He's a confident scorer who looks to create and heads into the season as one of the most productive players in the state, and we expect he has another monster season. He makes a rise in the rankings.

Kevon is a player that we saw play a few times, and he gets better every time we saw him. What we saw from him in Windsor, is the best that we've seen as he looked to be George Washington's most consistent player at the event. Taylor is GW's big man, and his confidence is growing the more that he's playing. He uses his size to back down smaller defenders, he keeps plays alive with his activity down there, he gets rebounds and goes straight up, and he also kicks it out to open shooters. He's a mobile big that runs the floor for open baskets, and we like how he competes on the block. GW is going to be a senior-heavy team that should have chemistry heading into the year. If he's able to continue to impact the game defensively and on the boards, then he's a player who should turn more heads this season. He makes a rise in the rankings with a push to rise even more with a big season. He's pretty underrated at this point.

Lake doubled his production from his sophomore to junior year and stepped into the role as the focal point of the offense for Boulder. He was a consistent scorer from all 3 levels, putting up 15.7 points and 3.4 assists a game. He was also the team's primary ball handler and facilitated the offense as an aggressive playmaker. This season, it will be much more of the same as opposing teams will go in with the mentality of trying to slow him down. He will have to continue to lead the way and find ways to keep teammates involved and making the right play. He uses his athleticism and two-way capabilities. The offense will run through him, and he will be tasked with being the team's go-to scorer. Think he will be up for the task, and that is why he makes a jump in the rankings.
