This past Saturday, I attended The Renaissance Showcase at Westlake High School in Thousand Oaks, which featured a 7-game schedule starting at 10:30 a.m. and going until 7:30 p.m., the start of the final game. The showcase featured some of the nation's top players, as well as some known names on the West and some up-and-comers that are making statements early in their high school careers. This article looks at 9 standout wing/forwards from Saturday's event, and will be the final article from this showcase. The players are listed in alphabetical order, not in ranked order. We begin this article with recent Oregon State commit [player_tooltip player_id='2425665' first='Drew' last='Anderson'].

Anderson is a skilled and sharp-shooting player that can score in the paint, as well as from the perimeter, plays well in both the half court setting and the open court, and is an underrated defender. The 6-foot-9 stretch-four has good footwork with use of the pivot in the post to get separation from opposing bigs, has good touch on finishes around the basket, has good feel and timing on dives off the pick and roll action, with good hands to receive passes on the roll and the body control to finish through contact at the basket. Anderson has become more comfortable sealing off defenders in the paint, using his strong build to back others down, and uses the quick turn-around move to get by and score against opposing bigs. Anderson moves fluidly off the ball, has the moves to create his own shot off the perimeter, and is accurate with the 3-ball off the bounce or the catch. Anderson crashes the boards, has enough handle to push off the glass, and runs the floor well to get ahead of the defense. The Oregon State commit had 14 points in the Eagles win over Crespi, and is part of a senior heavy roster that will look to win the Trinity League and get an Open Division bid this coming season.

Conerly is a lengthy and athletic player that can score the ball from 3-levels, excels in the open court, and is an underrated versatile defender that leaves his imprint all over the game. The 6-foot-7 wing/slasher has good handles, uses the crossover, behind cross, and the Euro-step to get his defender off balance and create space, has a great touch and body control on finishes at the basket, has good lift and length on the mid-range jumper to shoot over most defenders, and moves well off the ball to get open looks off the catch with the 3-ball. Conerly keeps his hands ready, likes to catch and rip through to attack the basket, and has a long and quick first step to get to the rim, where he can throw down with style or power. Conerly, uses his lengthy wingspan to deflect passes in the post or on the perimeter to create steals, has the lateral quickness to stay in front of perimeter players, with the length to alter/block shots on the wing, as well as the strides, timing, and bounce for chase down blocks in the open court or weakside blocks in the paint. Conerly continues to improve his overall skill set and is one of the more underrated two-way wings in California. He finished with 23 points, 7 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 blocks to highlight his two-way skills.

Kochnev is a physical and skilled player that can score in the paint, as well as space the floor from the perimeter, sees the floor well, and has a number of ways to score the ball. The 6-foot-7 forward has good interior footwork with use of the pivot, seals off his defender to with good hands to receive entry passes, gets into his defenders body to create contact, with the use of the spin-move or reverse pivot to evade his opponent and get open for shots within 15-feet, and is effective with the face-up mid-post jumper. Kochnev is tough to defend in the on-ball screen action, as he can hit shots from the perimeter at a high clip, or score at the basket with good timing on the roll, and the strength to score through contact at the basket. Kochnev moves well off the ball to get open for looks off the catch, is accurate with the 3-ball from the top of the key, and has good court vision and precision on passes from the top of the key or out of the post. Kochnev finished with 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 blocks.

Kyman is a skilled bigman that can spray shots beyond the arc, make plays for teammates, and is an underrated rim protector. The 6-foot-8 point-forward crashes the boards, has the handles to push the ball up the court, the vision to make pin-point passes up the court to players ahead of the defense, as well as in the half-court setting from the top of the key to players cutting off the ball, and makes good reads off the drive and kick pass. Kyman is a great shooter from the perimeter with accuracy on the 3-ball off the catch or the bounce, uses the crossover, the spin-move, and the in-and-out dribble to get by his defender, makes good decisions in the on-ball screen action, with the ability to spread the floor with the shot off the pop, as well as the timing and touch to score off the roll, and has a smooth pull-up jumper from the elbows. Kyman has the length and timing to block/alter shots in the paint, and can step out and alter shots on the perimeter. The Washington State commit finished with a game-high 22 points, connecting on 4 threes, and added 3 assists to show why he is such a tough assignment for opposing defenses.

Martinsen is a skilled and sharp-shooting player that can score the ball from 3-levels, makes good decisions with the ball in hand, and takes what the defense gives him. The 6-foot-7 stretch-four has quality handles, uses the crossover, behind cross, and the pro-hop to get his defender off balance, has touch on shots around the basket with the reverse of Euro-step lay-ups to get space from bigs in the paint, and is accurate with the jumper from the mid-range to the 3-point line, off the bounce or the catch. Martinsen is a tough assignment for opposing defenses in the ball-screen action, as he can hit shots off the pop, along with good timing and hands to receive passes rolling to the basket, where he can score with finesse or throw down some power dunks. Martinsen is an underrated rim protector that can block/alter shots in the paint, as well as the agility to step out and contest perimeter shots, crashes the boards with the handle to push the rock, and has the court vision to make reads up the court or in the half-court setting to players cutting off the ball. Martinsen had a solid stat-line in the win over ABC-Prep, with 17 points, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block.

Miller is a physical and skilled player that impacts the game in a variety of ways, is a versatile scorer, and can defend multiple positions at a high-level. The 6-foot-5 wing has solid handles, uses the crossover and hesitation to attack the defense, looks to get into the paint routinely, has the strength to absorb contact and score at the basket, uses the pump-fake to get to the mid-range jumper that he connected on regularly, moves well off the ball to get open for the 3-ball off the catch, and has touch on the floater down the lane. Miller is solid on the boards, has the handle to push the ball, with good vision to find players up the court in stride, and has good touch on shots at the basket. Miller uses his long wingspan to deflect passes into the post, as well as deflect passes on the perimeter, and is a legit rim protector in the paint. Miller finished with a monster double-double of 27 points and 12 rebounds, along with 2 blocks.

Mukendi is a physical and athletic player that impacts the paint on both ends, uses his frame to impose his style of play, and stays within his strengths as a player. The 6-foot-9 power forward is a beast on the boards on both ends, with touch on the putbacks, as well as holding opponents to single-shot possessions, has nice touch on the fade-away floater/hook shot, has good timing on dives off the pick and roll action, and can bully his way through contact at the basket. Mukendi has a good drop-step move that is tough for opponents to defend with his strength and bounce to power through, holds his own in the post on defense with good timing to deflect or alter shots, and the lateral quickness to switch off on smaller players and stay on the ball until the defense resets. Mukendi had a solid showing with 12 points and 5 rebounds and will be a welcome interior presence for the Celts this coming season.

The 6-foot-9 power forward is relentless crashing the boards on both ends, has nice touch to tip the ball in off the glass, or limit the opposition to single-shot possessions, outlets the ball quickly to his lead guards and gets up the floor quickly to get ahead of the defense, has good moves to score in the paint off the entry pass, and can hammer down some power dunks in the half court setting or transition. Mulumba has the timing, length, and height to block/alter shots in the paint, as well as the strides to close out and alter perimeter shots, has active hands to deflect passes and turn defense to offense, and had a string showing in the Titans win over Notre Dame (SO) with 16 points and 8 rebounds.

White is a lengthy and athletic swiss army knife that leaves his imprint on the game in a variety of ways, can play the 1 through 4 position effectively, and is a tough on-ball defender.
