September 27th-28th I attended the annual SoCal Fall Prep Classic at Santiago Canyon College in Orange, CA. We had four local teams rep the event and most of them held their own quite well.

Here were the Top Defenders

[player_tooltip player_id='2975471' first='Kur' last='Lual'] Bella Vista Prep (Pictured)

A newcomer for me is a long two-way wing forward with real size. He will score with downhill takes, athletic rip thrus, alley-oop dunks, tip-ins out of his area and covers a lot of ground with a high motor on defense. He will defend the 2-4 for his team.

[player_tooltip player_id='2091943' first='Ezbon' last='Hassan'] Bella Vista Prep

A wing forward who plays with an incredible motor. He plays some of the four and three spots and is strong inside versus bigger players. He will dive on the floor for loose balls and rebound out of his area. He will dunk it on the break, score thru contact and use the floater game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2144878' first='Jacob' last='Williford'] Phhoenix Prep OTE

A combo guard is super active on defense. He is a physical on-ball defender who gains steals and get deflections in bunches. He will score it with off the ball cuts, quick dribble drives, difficult level shots in traffic and he seeks the body contact. He truly has a knack for getting to the FT line.

[player_tooltip player_id='2855887' first='Wisdom' last='Fode'] Bella Vista Prep

A physical two-way guard plays on or off the ball. He is very tough on the ball defensively with advanced lateral quickness and stronger hands. He scores it on the break, loves getting downhill and has a nice mid-range jumper off the dribble.

[player_tooltip player_id='2693801' first='Dane' last='Montague'] Perry

One of the biggest players in the entire state is only a sophomore. He scores it with mid-range jumpers, floaters, he rolls to the basket off of the pick and roll and finishes. runs the floor and he is a strong two-handed rebounder to score on offensive rebound put backs.

[player_tooltip player_id='2492665' first='Anthony' last='Granger'] Phhoenix Prep OTE

A fluid power forward flies on the break and he is one of the rim runners of the team. He uses his size and length to block shots out of his area, rebound and then sprint the floor for lob dunks. He will score with long striding layups and offensive rebound put backs.

[player_tooltip player_id='1776606' first='Dylan' last='Coday'] Millennium

A power forward who was fighting hard on defense all weekend long. He was denying the ball entry, rebounding in and out of his area and setting picks. He runs the court for layups and put backs off the glass. A glue guy for the Tigers this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2574812' first='Sadeek' last='Noah'] Bella Vista Prep

A power forward with athleticism will defend and score. He has good body control and will make tough layups with contact. He can hit the three off the catch and score with hook shots. He rebounds, blocks shots and moves well in space to defend.

[player_tooltip player_id='2639549' first='Mamadou' last='Issa Sow'] Bella Vista Prep

A taller and very fluid power forward is a rebounder snatcher who blocks shots out of his area and runs the floor. He keeps balls alive on the glass with a big time motor and he scores with contested layups and flushes way above the rim in the dunkers spot.
