CBG held their Fall Finale Jamboree over the weekend and once again, it was a loaded field of teams with prospects for all levels of colleges to track. I was there for the slate of games on Saturday and for this article, will be highlighting the intriguing forwards and bigs from the 2027 class who caught my eye.

Coming into the weekend, we had a good feel that Green would position himself to push for the No. 1 spot in the updated 2027 rankings that will release tomorrow. The 6-foot-9 forward only solidified those thoughts with his output on Saturday. He brings an intriguing combination of size, skill, and fluidity for a prospect of his size, but in the more recent viewings since the mid-summer, Green has polished the smaller aspects of his game that will ultimately separate him. The handle still needs tightening, but he showed comfort in pushing the ball in transition and making plays off the bounce consistently. When he gets to the rim, he uses patience and footwork to create angles for himself to score. In face-ups, Green didn't hesitate to pull the trigger over the outstretched arm of his defender with no change in his release to sink mid-range jumpers. He's more dialed in defensively and an active presence on the glass as you'd expect.

Looking at the 2027 MD/DC class as a whole, you can't name off many prospects in terms of potential and upside before getting to Malonga. At West Nottingham, he's operating on the ball more than I've ever seen him and the results have been pleasing. Even in ball screen actions as the initiator this weekend, the 6-foot-6 hybrid forward delivered crisp passes to the rolling big man after manipulating the defense with his eyes. His jumper is getting off with cleaner mechanics, his burst out with his first step is quicker, and he's becoming more confident in himself finishing through contact while airborne. The overall movement of Malonga is becoming more fluid and sure of himself. Continuing to round out his game offensively and become a defensive menace with his God given intangibles will be the ultimate measuring stick for where he ends up.

Walked away really impressed with Aborowa for an Andrew Osborne Academy team that college coaches should have written down on their travel schedules this season. At 6-foot-6 with plus length, a nice frame, and athleticism, Aborowa is exactly what you want in a prototypical wing. He spent Saturday knocking down pull-up in the mid-range off the bounce with relative ease despite his defender getting good contests. The lift and release point he has on his jumper make it extremely difficult for defenders who are off the ground second in contests to truly alter it. Other than hitting shots and playing athletically around the rim offensively, Aborowa spent his time on the defensive side guarding multiple positions effectively and helping close out possessions with rebounds outside of his area.

Otite simply got it done inside the paint throughout the day for AOA. He now stands closer to 6-foot-10 and does a nice job of setting impactful screens and rolling to the rim with ready, dependable hands and a strong base. He showed good touch around the basket with either hand on those rolls or on possessions where he played with his back to the basket from the block as he converted over his left shoulder. He's an anchor defensively who can disrupt rim activity with his length, did a good jobs of keeping his arms extended hedging or feathering screens, and uses his wingspan to rip down rebounds at their peak. All in all, he's a low-maintenance, but productive big who should gain some momentum this season.

Now at The St. James Academy playing for Book Richardson in the EYBL Scholastic league, Kabugi adds size, motor, and versatility to the frontcourt rotation. He's a guy who doesn't understand what it means to be tired, or at least that's how he plays. It seems like any activity on the glass, any lazy pass, or any 50/50 results in Kabugi being in the mix with a hand in things and more times than not, ending up with the possession. He showed off some intriguing tools offensively too both on and off the ball. His handle is good enough to, in times, be an initiator. Getting downhill and absorbing contact comes into play with his chiseled frame. He can mix it up and make jumpers off the bounce and can make defenders sprint out to closeout and utilize his bursty first step before attacking the rim.
