Area Rankings: Top 5 2028 Prospects in Southeast Iowa

The top-ranked player in the 2028 class, Morgan is a hyper-athletic guard who loves to attack the rim off the dribble. He can finish through contact at a high level, knock down shots from the mid-range routinely, and is working to extend his range out to the arc with consistency. He has an innate feel for the game, great vision, and is a really gifted playmaker and shot creator for himself and his teammates. He averaged 13.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.3 steals per game as a freshman at North Scott, and he and his brother have transferred to Davenport North for their sophomore years.     Wilmington is a pure point guard with elite handles, fantastic vision, and is a gifted passer with a great feel for the game. He has the ball on a string, plays with pace and changes speeds well, and is a creative finisher around the rim. As an on-ball defender he's really strong, moving his feet extremely well and making life uncomfortable for opposing ball-handlers with his quick hands. He averaged 4.7 points and 2.0 assists per game as a freshman and will step into a much more significant role as a sophomore.     The aforementioned brother of [player_tooltip player_id='2595605' first='MarQwan' last='Morgan'], Marcus is a tough, athletic wing who can really shoot it from the 3-point line. He knocked down 51% of his attempts from distance last season for North Scott, while averaging 6.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game. He's a bit more of a catch-and-shoot weapon right now, but is working to become more of an off-the-dribble threat as well. He's a really good, tenacious rebounder who does a great job high-pointing the ball, and is a good enough ball-handler to lead the break after pulling down a defensive board.     A talented ball-handler and playmaker who puts his teammates first, Brown does a great job putting his teammates in positions to succeed with his ability to create off the dribble and get the defense to collapse on him. He's great in the mid-range and has a really nice floater that he uses to score over bigger defenders, but his biggest asset is his vision and passing instincts.     Roorda wasn't on the varsity roster for the Dutch last season but could make an impact as early as this year. He finishes through contact around the rim, can attack bigger defenders off the dribble and get to the bucket, and he has good footwork and touch. He's a high-level rebounder on both ends of the floor with a nose for the ball, and he gets the job done in and out of his area.
