The high school season is underway and several Freshmen are expected to make major impacts this upcoming season. The early indications are that this 2029 class is extremely good. There are a few players who had D1 scholarship offers before they entered the high school hallways. This list is definitely going to change A TON over the next 4 years. And there are likely multiple players who will finish top ten in the class that no one on the Prep Hoops staff has seen yet. Here's a look at the top shooting guards in the inaugural 2029 class rankings. This does not include players who are in the top ten.

Grant is not a kid I have been able to see yet but people I trust in Louisville rave about his potential. Rayshaun has good size at an early age and is wired to score. Evangel is going to be relatively young this season and Grant has some varsity experience after playing in 15 games as an 8th grader last season. Definitely a name to keep track of for this season and into the future.

A volume scorer who can play on or off the ball, Lowery has found himself playing the 2 spot next to Junior [player_tooltip player_id='1751495' first='Ja'Rye' last='Brown']. Between those two, the DuBois backcourt should be one of the most explosive in the city of Louisville this season. Triston struggled with his efficiency last season in varsity action but should be better adjusted to the physicality of varsity and ready for a big role for the Lions this season.

One of my favorite guards at our Freshman showcase back in August, Williams enters this season with expectations of having a big role for Manual this year. Capable of playing either on or off the ball, Eli is an excellent slasher who can get downhill in a hurry. His overall shooting needs to continue improving as his game develops but Williams is another talented guard in a very good class in the city of Louisville.

One of the stronger guards in this class at this point, Withrow is a very talented guard who excels at getting to the rim but he is capable of heating up from the perimeter too. Matt exploded for 30+ points in multiple AAU games this spring and summer and is in line for a very big role at Oldham County this season and could be, along with teammate [player_tooltip player_id='2880415' first='Ty' last='Bryant'], the best freshmen in the 8th region.

Haffley is a player whose game I like more and more with each viewing. Very skilled, Brayden is a good driver and knows how to finish at the rim. Also a solid shooter, Haffley should have an opportunity to carve out a role for himself as a varsity player this season. Brayden is a name to track, long term.
