Ja'Quan backed up his status as one of the top 2028 prospects in the state with a dominant showing on Saturday afternoon. The 6'4 guard is one of the most explosive athletes in the state, and showed off his bounce with a handful of dunks in the game I watched. Most impressive was his improved handle and added mid-range game from last season. His quickness at 6'4 allows him to get separation off the dribble from opposing wings, and from there can elevate and simply shoot over the top of them. Turner was connecting at a high percentage from the elbow area, and that allowed him to put up close to 30 points in the game I watched.

[player_tooltip player_id='2834283' first='Joe' last='Soper'] was on clean-up duty in the paint for Team 4. If there was a missed shot in his area, Joe was likely coming up with it. He did a great job of clearing out space with a box-out, and then attacking the ball with two hands off the rim. After an offensive rebound, Joe would keep the ball high and go right back up for a second chance bucket. The 6'5 center brought toughness to the floor for his team.

The 5'8 point guard proved tough to stick in front of off the dribble. He was patient coming off screens and letting the play develop, and in isolation showed a shifty handle to get defenders leaning one way before attacking the opposite direction. Strong and compact frame allowed him to absorb contact around the basket and still convert on a couple finishes over taller players. Moves well laterally on the defensive end and showed quick hands to come up with a couple of steals.

Levi never seemed to stand still on the offensive end. He was always cutting hard, finding pockets of space to provide a kick-out option, or setting screens to free up his teammates. Used his length at 6' to come up with an offensive rebound and put-back bucket in the game I watched.

Jayden was one of the day's surprise players for me. He teamed up with [player_tooltip player_id='2504214' first='Ja'Quan' last='Turner'] to form arguably the best 1-2 punch in the event, as the defense simply couldn't stop him from getting to the rim. Whether he was jumping passes for steals and transition opportunities, cutting hard to beat his man backdoor, or blowing by defenders off the dribble, Jayden simply found ways to get to the basket. Did a great job of reading the defense to know when to get all the rack to the rack, or when to pull-up for a short jumper or floater to avoid a charge call.

Elias is an unselfish guard who was able to rack up a handful of assists throughout the game I watched. After pulling in a defensive board or receiving an outlet pass, he did a great job of picking his head up and seeing the floor. He was always looking for a teammate sprinting the floor, and on multiple occasions was able to launch the ball ahead leading to an open lay-up. Showcased some shiftiness with a quick spin move in the half-court before getting to the rim and finishing on his own.

Lucius was a versatile defensive option for Team 4. He possesses a combination of length, lateral mobility, and strength that allowed him to guard a handful of spots on the floor. Lucius showed the strength to hold his ground in the paint when matched up with taller players, but had no problem switching and moving his feet with guards on the perimeter. Offensively he showed some nice footwork to play off two feet in the paint.

Abe is one of those players who's always looking to push the tempo. He's a quick guard at 5'9, and likes to play fast. He always kept his eyes scanning the floor looking to pass the ball ahead when possible, but could also lead the break on his own. Really liked the positive attitude he brought to the floor as well, always giving out high fives and encouraging his teammates.

Talon stood out with his energy and effort on the floor. He did a great job of sprinting back on defense, and was able to shut down a few transition opportunities for the other team simply by working hard. Active cutter off the ball in the half-court who never seemed to stand still. Did a nice job of getting in the mix for some rebounds, high pointing the ball at the top of his leap to secure it over taller players.
