The Expo: Oregon - Team Nine Scouting Report

Last weekend, the Courts in Beaverton hosted the Prep Hoops Expo, hosting over 90 of the top players in the state of Oregon. We'll be going team by team to analyze each player's performance, continuing with Team Nine.    A talented lead guard who competes on both ends, rebounds well for his position, and plays with toughness. He runs the lanes effectively, shifts speeds and directions to keep defenders off balance, and can defend multiple positions. Lawson can knock it down from deep 3-point range, attacks off the pick-and-roll, and crashes the boards hard. His versatility and energy made him one of the more impactful guards at the event.     Poole hustles, communicates, and plays with defensive focus, closing out well on shooters. He stretches the floor with his 3-point shot and attacks the rim without shying from contact. Quick in transition and unselfish in finding teammates, he showed the kind of two-way impact coaches value.     Renner brought grit and toughness, showing a willingness to defend and play the passing lanes aggressively. He competed with energy, had a smooth jumper, and ran the floor in transition. His tenacity and confidence gave his team a noticeable edge.     A crafty, clever, and fast point guard who thrives in the open floor. He's a good shooter, finishes with either hand, and creates scoring chances for teammates with his vision. Williams was one of the more underrated players at the event, consistently making great plays on both ends.     Curtis stood out with his creativity and quick first step, making him a tough guard. He displayed good shooting form, solid ball handling, and excellent court vision. Defensively, he competed well over and under screens with quick feet. Calm under pressure with strong basketball IQ, Curtis was one of the more polished guards at the Expo.     Marcum made his mark by being one of the few players willing to take charges, showing toughness and selflessness as a teammate. His strength, defensive effort, and willingness to compete on every play helped set him apart.     A steady and fundamentally sound player who contributes on both ends. He rebounds well, runs the floor, fills passing lanes, and doesn't shy away from contact. Walters is a solid defender and all-around athlete who provided consistency and effort throughout the games.     Perry, a 6'4 forward, is a strong, aggressive, and physical presence inside. He embraces contact, competes on both ends, and scores from multiple spots on the floor.
