Team 3 standouts from the Sophomore ID Camp

We hosted the Sophomore ID Camp at Gold Crown on September 7th, bringing together over 140 players from across the state to compete and showcase their abilities. The energy in the gym was high, with plenty of talent on display and several prospects making their mark. Here's a look at the sophomores from Team 3 who stood out during the event.    Tiatia impressed at the showcase a player that we did not know too much about heading into the event but he took over with his iso baskets. He dominated in 3 on 3 and then took over as a primary scorer in 5 on 5. he's a shifty scorer with quickness and his first step was too much for opposing guards. He showcased ball handlings and created advantages off the dribble. I enjoyed that he controlled tempo while keeping defenders on their heels. He's a guard to track as the season unfolds and was a player that I was very intrigued by.     VanderMeer showed that he can space the floor with his shooting. He confidently knocked down the three-ball and made sure that players knew where he was. He moved well without the ball, found open windows in the defense and created scoring opportunities for teammates. His off-ball activity and IQ kept the defense trying to run him off of the 3 poiunt line and created scoring opportunities for others. He's a player who knows how to play the right way and that was on display.     Ross was steady and dependable throughout the showcase, showing flashes of scoring touch and a willingness to compete on both ends. He worked hard defensively as he made hustle plays that don't always show up on the stat sheet. Ross is a player whose effort and team-first approach could carve him meaningful minutes this season and he was a standout at the event.     Lewis was a pest on defense during the showcase and that kind of play seperates you in a showcase. His instincts and ability to play the passing lanes set the tone. He rebounded effectively, pushed the break, and used his size and strength as a slasher. Offensively, he played a balanced game, but his defensive chops stood out most. His versatility was on full display at the event as a player to keep an eye on.     Phipps is an athletic and physical guard who played with energy and toughness. He handled pressure well, used his body to absorb contact on finishes and made plays at the rim. His effort on both ends and ability to spark his team kept them competitive. With strength, athleticism, and motor, Phipps has the tools to continue building his game but his work defensively is where I feel he shines brightest.
