In a wide open section (6AA), what returning rotation players will make an impact for each team? We break things down now!

Albany

[player_tooltip player_id='2447860' first='Braeden' last='Justin'] (2026). The lone returning starter from the state champions is [player_tooltip player_id='2447860' first='Braeden' last='Justin']. Braeden is a 6'1 guard with agility and versatility, plus he scored seven points a game last season for the undefeated champs. Plays physically especially on defense which was a key reason he was relied on.

Jake Buttweiler (2026). Jake is a frontcourt player at 6'2 that battles and battles with his leverage. Stepped off the bench last year to score twice a game and grab four boards a night. Solid football player that plays the end spots both ways which screams to his physical but agile nature on the hardwood. Jake, Braeden, and [player_tooltip player_id='1560779' first='Ashton' last='Olson'] are the seniors that return from last year's championship rotation.

Annandale

[player_tooltip player_id='2126448' first='Colton' last='Purcell'] (2027, [program_tooltip program_id='2075672' first='Minnesota' last='Fury']). As a sophomore, Colton posted 18.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, three assists and 1.5 steals per game. Colton is a physical athlete at 6'3 and 205 pounds that will post even bigger numbers because he is going to have a combination of strength and speed at his size that opponents simply won't be able to manage. Annandale should have a strong year and Colton could have an All State season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2118467' first='Ben' last='Walter'] (2026). Ben is an interesting player at six feet because he does have a nice shooting touch which helped him get to 13 points a game last season but he's also 215 pounds playing center and defensive tackle on the football field, and around the basket at times for the Cards. Add in 6'6 wing [player_tooltip player_id='2488736' first='Gabe' last='Westman'] who scored ten a game, Owen Pederson and Michael Kovall at forward and Griffin Zuehlke at lead guard, that is six key guys back for the Cards.

Holdingford

[player_tooltip player_id='2524653' first='Dawson' last='Hofer'] (2027, [program_tooltip program_id='2888391' first='Minnesota' last='Comets']). Dawson is a relentless attack player using strength, leverage, balance and agility to get to space to score and score a lot. Hofer averaged over 27 points a game last year as a constant downhill 6'3 forward and he could score even bigger numbers this year. Had a good 16u season for the Comets.

Brodi Huls (2026). Huls is a baseball talent so he spends the spring/summer doing that and plays in the winter with Hofer so he might get a bit overshadowed there. But Holdingford is far from a one man team. Huls scored 16 points a game last year breaking school records for threes made in a season, and threes made in a game. He's the lead guard and a player that was first team all conference and first team all area..

Kimball Area

Andray Stang (2026). Stang is a 5'11 guard that lists at shooting guard because he has a nice shooting stroke that helped him scored almost a dozen points a game last year, but also a smart player with the ball that can handle some too.

Cal Knaus (2026). Another returning double figure scorer, Knaus put together a solid slashing season seemingly playing beyond expectations as a 6'1 forward. Kimball graduated five players from the rotation so a lot of the production will fall to Stang and Knaus early as other players get ready for the varsity level.

Legacy Christian

[player_tooltip player_id='2382254' first='Hudson' last='Strand'] (2026). Strand is a 6'1 skilled guard that will be relied on in an even bigger way as a strong veteran. He averaged 14.3 points, 3.5 assists, and 3.5 boards a game as a junior shooting a quality 38 percent from the arc. This creative hooper says he is also a full time barber and said his team is full of 99s!

Ty Nelson (2026). Nelson is another key figure in the Legacy senior class that has high expectations. He averaged 13 points and six rebounds a game last season as a 6'3 forward making 54 percent of his attempts overall and 39 percent of the three three-pointers Nelson took each contest.

Maple Lake

Bowen Walton (2026). A six foot guard that scored 14 points per game last year as a junior and is the key veteran figure in a rotation that returns six guys hoping to improve on last year (they improved by a game last season, looking to take another step forward).

George Riviere (2028). Maple Lake has been down but Riviere has a chance to be a guy that helps make a lot of change. He scored 13 points per game last season as a freshman and should take another step this year.

Melrose

[player_tooltip player_id='2425367' first='Brady' last='Goihl'] (2026, [program_tooltip program_id='2888391' first='Minnesota' last='Comets']). At 6'7 and 290 pounds the [player_tooltip player_id='2425367' first='Brady' last='Goihl'] future is on the offensive line at UND but he was also the Melrose leading scorer and rebounder last season on the hard wood. Brady scored 14 points per game last season with outstanding post footwork.

Teague Dusha (2026). Teague is another football prospect that is a good basketball player as well. He's an agile 6'5 on the wing that is the team's second leading returning scorer after scoring about three baskets a game a season ago.

PACT Charter

[player_tooltip player_id='2954092' first='Fred' last='Onyinkwa'] (2028). A strong and explosive freshman that averaged 12 points and 5.5 rebounds a game using his work ethic and physical ability to get to consistent production. Will skill work and experience Fred will get even better but he's in a great spot to be a 1k scorer and the team's key scoring threat for the near three years.

Jayden Busch (2026). At 6'5, Jayden averaged 11.4 points and 9.2 rebounds a game as a junior. He's strictly a low post production guy but he does that in double double numbers for his team and they could take another step forward after a 14-13 season.

Royalton

Max Vannurden (2027). The 6'3 200 pound junior averaged ten points a game last season as a sophomore and is the top returning scorer for his team. A strong inside player that works hard.

Aaron Kloss (2026). Kloss is a 6'2 wing that also scored ten points per game for Royalton and will be a senior this season for a team that was 8-19 last year.

St. Cloud Cathedral

[player_tooltip player_id='1560852' first='Salifou' last='Camara'] (2026). Camara gave his team a dozen points per game last year and should be their leading scorer and rebounder next year. Salifou is a power wing that can use his power to go near the rim with strength but he is skilled and crafty too.

[player_tooltip player_id='2126463' first='Owen' last='Grove'] (2027, [program_tooltip program_id='2888391' first='Minnesota' last='Comets']). Grove is an excellent shooter who really shot the ball well during his 16u season. I think he, Hand Sand, Nick Plante, and Henry Schloe will all make a for a nice backcourt and of that group I think Grove has the chance to be the most dangerous point producer.

Sauk Centre

[player_tooltip player_id='2488739' first='Jacob' last='Drevlow'] (2026, [program_tooltip program_id='2888391' first='Minnesota' last='Comets'] Petrmeier). Jacob had an outstanding shooting/scoring 17u season for the Comets after scoring 14 points per game as the top Sauk Centre guard threat as a junior. He's been a 40 Percent Club member as a high school basketball player (makes 40 Percent or more of his threes) and should have a big senior season.

Matthew Zenzen (2026). A 5'11 player with quickness that should pair nicely against with Drevlow only this year there will be a lot more on the shoulders of this backcourt. Zenzen is a 5'11 guard with quickness who is the second leading returning scorer for his team.

Spectrum

[player_tooltip player_id='2140590' first='Cody' last='Benson'] (2027, [program_tooltip program_id='2075310' first='Northstar' last='Titans']). Benson is a 6'4 wing that had a take note season for the Titans after scoring 13 points a game last season shooting nearly 47 percent at the arc last year taking five threes a game! Cody moves right into the go-to-guy position and this isn't just a shooter, this is a shooter that also grinds it out on defense and moving actively.

[player_tooltip player_id='2382257' first='Eli' last='Miller'] (2026). Miller was a really good supporting player last year that averaged 10.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game as a junior. A very scrappy player that handles the ball for his team
