DeLaSalle has qualified for the state tournament the last 14 seasons. Can anybody in 4AAA stop the Islanders from a 15th straight? Doubtful

Super Summary

A lot of you have freshmen in high school right now. Think back to when they were born. It's been a while right? DeLaSalle has been in state every single season your freshman has been alive. And to think that the Islanders have their top three scorers returning and five of their top eight players back plus the biggest group of up and coming young players in the state, I don't know how they could be stopped from state. To me it would be a big surprise if they weren't playing on the last Saturday of their season in March.

Could somebody knock them off? To be honest I'm not sure three or four of the varsity teams in this section could beat the DeLaSalle bench, or even the junior varsity alone.

For starters, Edison and North St. Paul have a long, long way to go. NSP was in a good spot for a good year and then transfers hit them hard. Camden and Hill-Murray have some good young players that give their programs hope but they are not ready for a run. I think Columbia Heights is a sleeper for a good season but not a section run.

St. Anthony Village has more potential than I first thought and I think you could see them sneak into the top ten, but they aren't a state team. If somebody knocked off the Islanders it would be Johnson or Mahtomedi. Neither team really has the depth but they have the most experience and talent.
