Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase – Team 11 Evaluations

Not only is it a great opportunity for our staff to get an early evaluation of some of the most talented freshmen before the begin their high school career, but it also serves as an important evaluation/recruiting tool for our state's many great AAU programs. This year we welcomed in over 100 of the best Class of 2029 prospects here in Indiana. Scrappy defender that pressured full court with loads of energy. Quickness and active hands made him a turnover machine that turned defense to offense in a hurry. [player_tooltip player_id='2535753' first='Roberto' last='Garcia'], a 5'9” Guard out of Bishop Noll competed well through camp on the defensive end by communicating well and rebounding his position. In the 3v3 portion he got his jump shot going from the perimeter and was a tough cover with all the spacing. In 5v5 he was really good at changing ends and running the floor to get his feet set. Smooth perimeter stroke mixed with a good middle game with a soft touch. Off the ball he's a good cutter that knows how to get open. Made several back door cuts in the 5v5 that resulted in buckets underneath. Also showed the ability to read screens and know whether to flare or curl. Aggressive off the bounce to get in the lane. He showed once he got in the lane he plays off two feet and on balance to shoot his floater. Scored the ball really well all day long from all three levels, but also showed other winning traits in his game. Unselfish combo guard that played the game the right way. Wasn't hunting shots but took advantage of his opportunities. Defensively he competed at a high level keeping his man in front of him. Quick leader off the floor, Royce Bridgewaters was a difference maker on the defensive end. With his size and length he could guard multiple positions and was smart about when to jump passing lanes. He was also really good on the defensive glass finishing possessions.. Has the ability to rip and run off defensive boards and showed good decision making and good court vision. In the half court, he's a smooth wing with a good handle that helps him to get to his spots. Really good balancing scoring and facilitating as the lead guard. Capable of playing off the ball also, he was really good coming off screens and turning the corner. He was aggressive going to his right hand and using his body to create contact while finishing with a soft touch around the basket or dishing to open teammates for easy buckets.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
