<p>In the midst of fall preseason showcases, New Jersey Legacy Basketball hosted another competitive showcase this past weekend that brought together some of North Jersey's best talent. Held at Weequahic High School in Newark, NJ— the event showcased some extremely competitive matchups between several high level programs and highlighted some impressive individual player performances. This one day showcase provided a valuable glimpse at players' expected roles ahead of the high school season this winter. Here's a look at some prospects that had standout performances over the course of Saturday's action.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Providing a real spark plug offensively for Linden's offense from the guard position, [player_tooltip player_id='1595682' first='Jayden' last='Holman'] excelled in the ways he was able to score the basketball in transition while also thriving as a shot maker from the perimeter. It seemed like almost every time Holman crashed the boards, he was grabbing a rebound off the glass, pushing the break and finishing through contact on the other end. Holman also excelled as a shot maker from the perimeter, particularly off the catch, knocking down a handful of open shots from three point range. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">The engine behind Teaneck's offense, [player_tooltip player_id='1788774' first='Mickell' last='Taylor Jr']. showcased his overall offense, proving to be an efficient and versatile scorer while also shouldering some of the playmaking responsibilities. Exhibiting his ability to be effective both on and off the ball, Taylor Jr. demonstrated his confident and efficient shot making ability out on the perimeter and the mid range area while also mixing in his some crafty finishes off the bounce at the rim. Highlighting his ability to be a decisive playmaker, Taylor Jr. also displayed his ability to make a lot of good reads handling the ball, particularly out the PnR. </p>

Jones' impact was heavily felt on the offensive glass as he was constantly able to generate extra possessions for Linden's offense while also getting an ample amount of offensive putbacks. While Jones mostly did his damage on the boards, Jones also flashed his floor spacing ability from three point range knocking down a smooth trail three early on. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">An intriguing guard with interesting long term potential, [player_tooltip player_id='2948559' first='Jayden' last='Opoku'] put together some moments that showed flashes of his scoring ability with his perimeter shot making and crafty finishing ability at the rim. Opoku's a combo guard who's capable of being productive at either guard spot and he also showcased that with the time he spent at the point guard position throughout Saturday's action, shouldering some of the ball handling duties and initiating offense for Linden.</p>

Kelleh showcased his versatility as a shooter— particularly knocking down shots on the move coming off screens and off the catch as a standstill shooter. Kelleh also flashed his mid range shot making ability with a smooth turn around fade away out the low post and a couple of smooth pull up jumpers.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">An über talented guard who possesses a natural ability to just flat out make plays, [player_tooltip player_id='2763494' first='Jayden' last='Solomon'] is a guard that can seamlessly play either guard spot and put that on full display throughout Saturday's action. Possessing an innate feel for scoring the ball, Solomon constantly got downhill out of dribble drives— finishing with craftiness in traffic around the basket while also using different types of floaters in the paint. Solomon also put a tremendous amount of pressure on the rim in transition as he always looked to push the pace offensively. Solomon also showed flashes of his versatile perimeter shot making ability hitting a number of shots off the catch as a standstill shooter and off the bounce creating for himself. Solomon also flashed his decision making and playmaking ability in the ways he was able to create advantageous scoring chances for his teammates in transition and in the half court. </p>

Badillo was aggressive in hunting in his shot as he always seemed to be shot ready and constantly moving off the ball. Badillo also displayed his ability to be a shot maker in the mid range area when defenses ran him off the three point line. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Impacting the game on both ends of the floor for Shabazz, [player_tooltip player_id='2782185' first='Anthony' last='Blackmon'] impressed with his defensive intangibles— constantly pressuring the ball and defending with his hands out combined with good anticipation to constantly turn defense into offense. A true table setter from the point guard position, Blackmon consistency got in the paint with both his quickness off the bounce and his physicality to play through bumps, ultimately generating ample trips to the free throw line. Blackmon displayed good court vision with a number of high level passes he made throughout the course of Saturday's action. Blackmon also flashed his three point shoot ability off the bounce Saturday afternoon. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">With Shabazz playing with an extreme level of defensive pressure and intensity, [player_tooltip player_id='2201950' first='Elijah' last='Colon'] thrived in transition as a result of Shabazz's ability to consistently turn defense into offense Saturday afternoon. Colon thrived as a finisher in transition, sprinting the floor well when Shabazz forced turnovers and almost always getting ahead of the defense. </p>
