Mount has had a few lean years but they might be on the rise this coming season. With an abundance of young talent. They will get tested in this league night after night but the one thing you can be sure of they will be well prepared and take up the challenge.

With the loss of some nice talent to graduation the Mountaineers will rely heavily on some experience from 6”3 senior [player_tooltip player_id='2892154' first='Drew' last='Diaz']. Drew is one of the most improved players through hardwork in the CHSAA. Really good shooter off the catch. Defends well. He takes care of business on and off the court. I expect his numbers as in the past years to continue to rise. A player to watch in this talent laden league.

A player I am excited to see compete this season is [player_tooltip player_id='2780648' first='Supreme' last='Hinton'] a 2028 6”2 guard. A strong physical guard who sees the floor really well and can create for himself and others. Outstanding passer of the ball. Outstanding defender.

While Supreme has size and strength two other 2028 guards will complement previously mentioned player Drew and Supreme. [player_tooltip player_id='2780653' first='Shane' last='Lopez'] a 5”10 true point guard with blow by ability. He gets everyone involved. Has shown the quickness and handle to get into the lane and kick it to open shooters. One of the recipients of those passes should be 6”0 [player_tooltip player_id='2780669' first='Matthew' last='Santiago'] who can flat out shoot light outs. As with the other players Matthew takes defending seriously and is very good on the ball defender.

Kaleb George will add size and a rim protector. Standing 6”6 Kaleb class of 27 runs the floor really well. He will have to battle every night and he has shown the promise to compete on the boards at a high level.

Steven Russell 6”0 class of 28 can shoot it off his own dribble. He is able to create space and get his jumper off. He rebounds really well from the guard position.
