High School Spotlight: Homestead Spartans

The season is still a few months away, but it is never too early to look ahead at the high school season. We will be taking a look at some quick hitters, the top player(s), a potential breakout player, other roster members, and more for the upcoming season. Going into this season, Welker is clear-cut leader for this group. Welker is one of the best pure scoring wings in the state and is coming off a big summer playing on the 16u Peach Jam Champions [program_tooltip program_id='2076927' first='Indy' last='Heat']. He recently received his first offer from Purdue Fort Wayne and with a big junior season ahead of him, those offers will roll in even more. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Potential Breakout Player: [player_tooltip player_id='2054869' first='Jake' last='Coolman']<a href="https://prephoops.com/player/landon-lampley/"></a></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Homestead has some solid talent around Welker this season and a guy that will take some pressure off of him is his fellow 2027 classmate, [player_tooltip player_id='2054869' first='Jake' last='Coolman']. He is 6'1 combo guard that has a lot of skill on/off the ball that can really shoot it from the three-point range very deep. He is also a smooth, lefty guard that controls the pace of the game at all times and is a really crafty playmaker with the ball in his hands.
