Gray Team - Toledo Top 64 Preview

The Toledo Top 64 is back for its 3rd consecutive year, and this will be the preview of the Gray team at this event!   The gray team is filled with a pair of guards I expect to really know how to run the show. I don't expect many turnovers or sloppy plays from this squad with the high IQ of everyone on this team. The big fella down low, [player_tooltip player_id='1705954' first='Alan' last='Horton'], will be dominant all day, and I like what [player_tooltip player_id='2508069' first='Cole' last='Gast'] will bring with his physical presence and play.    Horton is one of the most dominant players I've seen, and he has the complete package in the paint. He's big, strong, and plays incredibly hard every possession. He has the touch to score with either hand around the rim, combined with patience and footwork that set him apart. Add in a high motor and relentless energy, and you can see why he's already committed to Miami (OH). Horton is a great player who is going to make a huge impact in this event.     Simpson is the type of point guard every team needs. He's a smart player who runs the show with confidence and composure, never shying away from big moments. He's a pass-first guard and a true floor general, but he can score it when the opportunities present themselves. What I like most is how steady he is — he keeps everyone involved and makes the right play, and that's why he's the kind of leader you want on the court in this event.     Kynard is an athletic, tough guard who brings a competitive edge every time he takes the floor. He's got that dog mentality and isn't afraid to go at anyone. A strong slasher, he attacks the rim with force and finishes through contact, making him a tough matchup for defenders. His toughness and energy make him stand out, and I expect him to leave a big mark on this year's showcase.     Holler is a talented wing with the skillset to be a very good player at the next level. He's a three-level scorer who has really improved his ability to slash and get to the rim, while also being a reliable shooter. His versatility allows him to impact the game in different ways, and he plays with a confidence that is hard to miss. I expect Holler to have a big day and prove just how solid his all-around game has become.     Gray is a guard who simply knows how to play. Last year he was one of the most impressive guards I saw in Northwest Ohio, and his skillset is as complete as they come. He can score from all three levels and has the ability to create his own looks against any defender. What sets him apart is how smooth and confident he is offensively — he just finds ways to get it done. Gray is a name that will continue to rise.     McMichael is a returning player for this event and someone who always stands out because of how steady and reliable he is. He's a tough kid who plays the game the right way, never trying to be flashy but always effective. His simple, mistake-free game allows him to contribute in all the little ways that matter. McMichael's toughness and consistency make him exactly the type of player you want in an event like this.     Gast is one of the more under-the-radar players in this field, but he's the type of guy who quickly earns respect. Though he's an undersized big, he plays with a toughness and edge that more than makes up for it. He's a monster on the glass and has the mentality to do all the dirty work teams need. Coaches love players like Gast because of his competitiveness and energy, and I think he's going to turn heads in this setting.     Taylor is a tough, vocal leader who isn't afraid to take charge on the floor. He sets the tone with his defensive intensity and physical approach, and he has the kind of energy that lifts the players around him. Taylor does all the little things that keep a team engaged — from organizing on offense to making hustle plays that swing momentum.
