Sophomore ID Camp: Mike’s Team 2 + 4 Standouts

When he wasn't involved in the defensive action, King was found running the floor and scored himself on a handful of transition opportunities. His strong frame and quickness allows him to get behind the defense and score effectively at the rim. I've noticed athletic improvements from Dunn even from the month of June as he's playing above the rim and looking more confident as a finisher. Nobody could really keep Williams from getting to the paint and his change of speed on the ball is difficult for defenders to stay in front of. Williams best move of the day came on a drive where he hit a reverse pivot that had the defender lost as he hit the easy fallaway shot. With strong hands to pickpocket opposing ball handlers and intercept passes, Smith had to be either the top or near the top of the showcase for steals. Not afraid to drive and go up against taller rim protectors, Oliver Jr did a nice job of avoiding shot blockers and scoring in the paint. I think Oliver Jr threw off the defense early in the camp as a lefty, making some tough layups with that hand. Looking to score in the paint, Thurman knows what his bread and butter is and that's sealing his man, catching and finishing on the block.
