He used that step to easily blow by defenders and score in the paint. Hudson is a good all-around player who does everything for his team. Whether it was scoring, passing, rebounding or defending, Hudson was the teams' “glue guy.” As one of the best rebounding guards on the court, he welcomed the opportunity to battle taller players for boards in the paint. Many of his offensive rebounds led to second chance shot opportunities for his teammates. He's a good mid-range shooter who showed the ability to extend his range beyond the three-point line. On defense, he played the pass lanes well enough to force three steals. Hudson is capable of becoming an elite player in the near future.

Carter is a scorer! he's an excellent ball handler who easily beats defenders off the dribble. When he attacked the paint, he either scored or assisted his teammates. There were sequences in the game where Carter made plays from all levels of the court. He showed the ability to get to the rim and make tough shots. When he saw a teammate cutting down the lane, Carter hit them with accurate passes that led to easy scores. If he was given open looks from behind the three-point line, Carter knocked them down with no hesitation. On defense, he forced numerous turnovers and made ball handling difficult for the opposition. Carter is a good player who could become better as he grows and matures.

Drake was the best passer on the floor! He's an unselfish player who always looked to get his teammates involved. I am willing to bet he finished the game as the team leader in assists. Most of his passes were flashy and on the money. One in particular, was a slick bounce pass he threw in between multiple defenders. Offensively, he excelled at beating opponents off the dribble, attacking the paint and finishing strong at the rim. Drake can also knock down jump-shots. He has a nice mid-range pull-up that he often used to be effective within the offense. Defensively, he was great at playing the pass lanes. His great timing and on-ball pressure forced multiple turnovers. Drake is a great lead guard who will only get better as he continues to grow.

In the teams' match-up against [program_tooltip program_id='2559412' first='Marlin' last='Academy'] 8th Red, Brady dominated in the paint. He showed great post moves that led to high percentage shots around the rim. Brady showed a knack for drawing fouls with his physical style of play. Many of his scores came through contact which led to and-one baskets. He calmly stepped to the foul-line and converted most of his opportunities. Brady showed his agility on a number of occasions. He attacked defenders off the dribble, ran the floor and scored in transition when the situation called for it. Brady was a tough match-up for all defenders, especially in the post. Defensively, he blocked numerous shots and made scoring tough for the opposing offense. Once he develops a consistent jump-shot, Brady could become an elite player.

Grayson is an excellent two-way player who showed the ability to be effective on both sides of the ball. Whenever he had the opportunity to shoot free-throws, he knocked them down. Grayson is a good shooter from mid-range. I watched him make a variety of shots no matter who defended him. Defensively, he was great at pressuring ball handlers into mistakes. His tenaciousness forced turnovers that led to positive outcomes for his team. His ball handling skills allowed him to be an effective passer. Kevin easily got around his defender and found teammates in scoring positions. His assists led to positive outcomes for Indy Hoops 8th Red. He also used those same skills to score the basketball. In the game against JBC 8th Green, he was able to drive by his opponent and score floaters in the paint. Kevin did this on numerous occasions. He showed his ability to shoot the ball as well. Whenever there was an opportunity to knock down perimeter shots he did so. Defensively, this little guy made plays. Kevin applied excellent on-ball pressure by using quick hands and great footwork. His lock down defense forced a host of turnovers and mistakes. Kevin is a promising young player.
