Illinois' The Expo Camp: Additional Prospects

Prep Hoops was back in the Chicagoland area over the weekend. We had a chance to see 4 hours worth of play from some of the top guys in the state in the classes of 2026 and 2027. We already went through evaluations from specific teams at the showcase. In this article, let's breakdown some more guys from other teams that I had the opportunity of seeing from Teams 5, 10, 2, and 13.    The slashing wing showed exactly why he'll be playing in the Big East next year as a true freshman. Made things look simplistic at times. Dribble drove into the lane to convert or create contact to get to the stripe. Used length effectively on the ball defensively. Found a gap through traffic in later game of day to slam it home with 2 hands. Spotting up from 3 was smooth.       Long and gifted athlete that showcased a multitude of skills in last game of day. Got to the rim on the baseline and finished with a 1 handed hard slam. Went off the bounce for a mid range jumper. Had another tough finish down low over numerous defenders. Can stretch defense out with shooting abilities. Defensively created fits down low changing shooter's shot shapes while maintaining good positioning.     Watched spurts of 2 games of his throughout the day. Agile stretch 4 man with good court awareness. Consistent rebounder that has fundamental positioning. Had multiple o boards with put back finishes. Runs the floor well. Caught it and laid it in from an alley-oop. Complimented with a coast to coast solo take. Mobility with shooting touch are there as well.     Solid passer who sees the court well. Initiates offense off of D-Boards. Goes into his shot off the bounce effectively. Hit a mid range jay and also scored on a coast to coast break-a-way. Consistently plays hard with competitiveness.     Saw him play in team's last game of day. Athletically fit to fill a wing position at the next level. Got out in the open floor and finished on a break-a-way slam. Showed shooting abilities knocking down a few spot up catch and shoot 3's with a soft touch.     Caught team's final game of action. Finished day out on a high note. Played bigger than his size. Had multiple finishes underneath to convert in traffic. Used length effectively. Worked hard and was scrappy to help team go on runs. Ran fast from rim to run.     Watched squads second game to end the showcase. A true big at the next level or a stretch 4. Has poised hands to go along with well established foot speed. Actively mobile on both ends. Went baseline for a 2 handed flush and coast to coast solo take for another throw down. Caught it on the wing for a triple threat swing through successful take in heavy traffic. Will fit in even keeled at the next level.     One of the strongest built guys at the camp today. Utilized upper and lower body strength down low with a quick knack to see the floor after rebounding. Really cleared it quickly on outlets. Made a couple assists off pitch ahead passes. Comes with great hands and feet. Showed touch on finishes and comfortable handling it when needed.
