Freshman Showcase: Standout Guards Part 1

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We had over 50 members of the class of 2029 come to Louisville Saturday to participate in our annual Freshman Showcase. While I was stationed on one court nearly the entire time, I did not get to see every player who came to camp. These are the top guards that I was able to evaluate myself. He's quick and has the ball on a string. While Jamir was one of the smaller players at camp, he more than made up for it with his basketball IQ and playmaking abilities. While he was good getting to the rim and finishing in 5 on 5 play, Cameron was at his best in the 3 on 3 setting when he had more chances to play with the ball in his hands. Jaylen was a totally new name to me coming into the camp and left a very strong impression. He may have led the camp in scoring but was willing to make the easy play for others instead of forcing his own offense. Exceling in the catch and shoot game, Luke showed he can play both on and off the ball. Williams is likely to have the chance to play major minutes at Manual this season and looks like he's ready for the opportunity, even if he still needs to add some muscle to his frame.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
