2026 Summer standouts: Time to see if the hype is real

We're a couple of weeks out from the Expo on Sunday, September 13th. This is your chance to test yourself against 2026 & 2027 talent from across the state as we all head out under one roof. (<a href="https://events.prephoops.com/e/1616/register/the-expo-colorado">Here</a>)      Lechuga had a solid junior season but stood out this summer when he showed that he could score and shoot with the best of them. His change of pace and ability to create shots off the dribble open things up for him and his teammates as well as his ability to run the offense. In a showcase setting, we want to see if that translates as well or was a result of a hot streak. Nonetheless, a solid outing can solidify what it is that we've seen from him as we expect him to have a big season. Might as well get started now.     Williams was one of the standout guards of the summer. His ability to step into the role as the primary ball handler as well as scorer who see's and reads double teams, makes the right plays when he has the ball and still remain aggressive has him as one of my favorite watches this year. He steps into a much bigger role, and with that comes bigger expectations. I want to see him get out and compete and show that it is not just a situation that has him excelling the way that he has, but to prove that he's seriously a breakout candidate on the year. He could benefit from a big day at the expo.     Jamikel took over in one of our tournaments this summer and from that day has been a name that I've been wanting to see more of. He's a versatile scorer that gets to where he wants, he can penetrate the defense and finish over bigger defenders or knock down the 3-ball. He looks very confident with the ball in his hands, and if he's able to continue playing how he did this summer, he will be a player that will turn heads. A big day at the event keeps him in contention as one of my personal favorites on breakout players this season.     What Easton did with LOB Elite this summer had him as a summer standout, as he was lights out from deep. He had real range, and his teammates made sure to continue to find him. He's a player that I was unaware of but he demands your attention with the kind of weekend he had from beyond the ar,c and we hope that we get to see more of that at the showcase. I like the way that he moves without the ball, he battles defensively, and can score in bunches, and if that is on display, we might see another jump from him.     Wyatt had a solid junior season for Rampart, which got him on our radar, and also had a solid summer as well for Hard2Guard, which caused a rise in the rankings. He's a bully ball guard that cannot be denied getting to the rim. He's also a 3-level scorer that rebounds well above his size, and finds teammates for cuts and open shots. Now it is about showing it to the rest of the state that he's coming for them in his final season. A solid outing at the showcase can give us another look at him, but also show as a barometer to where he stands amongst his peers. Getting out and playing well can have him in more conversations.
