Julian Williams
About Julian
Expert Analysis
Bobby Lopez | Prep Hoops Scout
Williams is flying up the rankings because his impact jumps off the page every time Vista Peak takes the floor. The do it all guard is putting up 21.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 3.1 steals while playing with a poise and IQ well beyond his years. He’s a true three level scorer who gets downhill to the rim, knocks down shots from everywhere and makes the right read when defenses collapse. What really separates him is the efficiency at 47% from the field and 80% at the line that’s paired with relentless competitiveness. On the other end he’s a tough, physical defender who welcomes contact and comes up with timely steals or charges that are momentum changing plays. Williams isn’t just producing numbers but he’s controlling games, leading his team and making it impossible to ignore his rapid rise

continues to tack on scoring clinics each game, putting up a fearless 20 PPG. When Williams gets momentum driving downhill, he gets deep in his bag and converts from anywhere on the hardwood. On the defensive end, you’ll find Williams being a pest to his matchup, dedicated to piling on steals to the stat sheet. The 6’0 point guard has come a long way, and his final semester of high school basketball brings enormous upside and potential that allows him to elevate even higher. Watch out for Williams because he’s coming into 2026 hot.

Williams is Vista’s best player, but also the X-factor that allows the team to go. His competitive nature has Vista Peak competing and in games as they feed off his energy. He battles on both ends of the floor. Makes plays happen when he has the ball, and this season, his usage has skyrocketed. We liked what we saw from Julian this summer, and now he must find a way to string together some games. I expect him to have a solid season, and that starts with setting the tone for the team to follow.

Julian is a player that we got to see early on in the summer, and then did not see much of him after. Wish that we got to see him at a few showcases to show the separation from him and other guards in the class. When we have seen him, we’ve enjoyed his aggressiveness from the guard spot. The offense is always centered around him as he plays at a fast tempo, he controls the pace and scores with ease. While he’s attacking, he’s reading double teams and getting the ball moving, he’s directing traffic, and is a score-first guard that handles pressure unlike many other guards in the state. Vista Peak will goes this year as he allows them to, so it is on him to take his game up a level. We expect some big-time performances from him.

Williams was one of the standout guards of the summer. His ability to step into the role as the primary ball handler as well as scorer who see’s and reads double teams, makes the right plays when he has the ball and still remain aggressive has him as one of my favorite watches this year. He steps into a much bigger role, and with that comes bigger expectations. I want to see him get out and compete and show that it is not just a situation that has him excelling the way that he has, but to prove that he’s seriously a breakout candidate on the year. He could benefit from a big day at the expo.

Julian Williams came into the event as an unranked player but that changes with big performance after big performance. He was the focal point of the offense and the team’s leading scorer throughout the event. What I enjoyed was that despite taking a majority of the shots, he still looked to trust in teammates and tried to find the open man. He was being double-teamed and still scoring, pushing the pace, and showing poise. He will certainly be making a big push and will be asked to take a huge leap in his senior year. Expect to hear a ton about him this season.

Williams constantly looks to attack the rim, often setting up teammates for kickout passes. A skilled finisher at the rim, the guard does well getting to inside hand finishes through contests, not fazed for the defense.
