Here are my top players from Saturday's games at the Prep Hoops The Tune Up: Illinois!

[player_tooltip player_id='1964163' first='Donovan' last='Williams'] All In 2026

Williams had a bit of a slow start but picked things up in the second half. He figured out how to be effective as a scorer and a passer. Donovan is fresh off a hot June with Stevenson. He was able to get into his bag, scoring off the dribble into mid-range shots and deep threes. A few times he was able to get to the paint and made one-handed floaters. He showed good vision when getting to the heart of the defense kicking the ball out to shooters on the perimeter. Williams is continuing his strong run into July.

[player_tooltip player_id='2334404' first='Tre' last='Watkins'] Basketball Paradise 2026

Watkins was back to his usual with Paradise. He was hard to contain scoring from all three levels. What makes him a tough cover is his athleticism around the rim. He's able to get off the ground quickly and tip in missed shots if you don't put a body on him. He reads missed shots off the rim and goes and gets it. Watkins had another impressive showing even in defeat.

Reymundo Garibay CBG Elite 2027

Garibay is a composed guard who makes the right reads on the court. He has a good build for a guard and plays under control while being pressured. He is an average shooter who only takes shots when wide open. Made elite passes while on the move to the rim. Good vision for a guard who can play on or off the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='2830789' first='Jonavan' last='Arteaga'] CBG 2027

Arteaga is an energetic catch-and-shoot guard. Does a good job at spacing away from the ball and makes shots. Has the ability to drive when chased off the line.

[player_tooltip player_id='2822518' first='Dezaya' last='Evans'] [program_tooltip program_id='2895401' first='DTM' last='Elite'] 2028

Athletic guard who can get to the basket with a second gear. Evans repeatedly blew past defenders and scored several buckets with crafty layups. As he picked up rhythm in the game Dezaya made good decisions on fastbreaks, hitting the open man each time for points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2896415' first='Caleb' last='Trent'] Big 3 2028

Trent is a control-the-pace type of guard. He did his best against an aggressive defense. When looking to score Caleb was a solid shooter on the move and off catch and shoot plays. He scored a few buckets off drives from the corner. Trent is capable of playing on and off the ball at guard.

[player_tooltip player_id='2797229' first='Jaeden' last='Sanders'] [program_tooltip program_id='2075515' first='Hoops' last='4 Health'] 2028

Skilled big men at 6'6, who can put the ball on the floor and pass from the top of the key. Very good rim protector with amazing arm length. He made a few post moves near the basket using simple drop-step moves and scoring through contact. Jaeden has a huge upside to his game if he continues to develop. He and his twin can become college prospects.

[player_tooltip player_id='2821675' first='Jahari' last='Sanders'] [program_tooltip program_id='2075515' first='Hoops' last='4 Health'] 2028

Twin brother of Jaeden is a 6'6 athletic forward that runs the floor well and even connected on two fastbreak dunks in the first half of the game. He is still understanding the game as he floated at times on the perimeter but was more of an asset as a slasher. Made a big three to cut Flight's lead down to 1 point.

[player_tooltip player_id='2403230' first='Jewan' last='Garner'] [program_tooltip program_id='2622592' first='Flight' last='Athletics'] 2028

Slick ballhandler who made a couple of threes in the game. He has good arm length for a smaller guard, and he excels at guarding the ball with pressure. Many times he gets back-tap steals while defending the ball near half-court. He makes good decisions as a passer mostly being effective on his drives when getting paint touches.

[player_tooltip player_id='2403168' first='Masyn' last='Harrell'] [program_tooltip program_id='2622592' first='Flight' last='Athletics'] 2028

Skilled wing player who plays with some pop. Masyn scored a lot around the basket through contact. Good size at 6'3 for a wing with skills. Harrell is very aggressive on defense playing passing lanes and deflected a couple of steals that turned into points. Was a double-digit scorer in the close loss.
