Rankings Release: Breaking Down the 2028 Bigs

Today, we continue our positional breakdowns for the Class of 2028 with a look at some notable Bigs.   We checked in on the Forwards yesterday, and today, we'll turn our attention to the prospects that dominate the paint.   From prospects inside the Top 15 to ones sitting lower in the Top 100, here's a look at five Bigs that appeared in our latest rankings update.    Carl Kone, a big man out of CATS Academy in Massachusetts, impresses with his combination of athleticism, mobility, and positional size. At 6'10", with long arms, he does a good job of protecting the rim on the defensive end of the floor. He has the ability to move well in space and is a talented defender in ball screen actions. Offensively, he has the ability to finish with either hand around the rim, can make some passes out of the trailer position, and is now knocking down shots with some consistency from behind the three point line.     Rye, a skilled big out of Worcester Academy in Massachusetts, he's a strong prospect hat makes plays around the rim on both ends of the floor. He can finish with either hand around the rim, has the ability to make plays off the bounce, and does a nice job of using his frame to his advantage as a finisher. He has the ability to play as a rim roller, can pop into space, or play out of short rolls in ball screens. Defensively, he does a nice job of walling up without fouling, gives good effort on the defensive glass, and is capable of guarding either forward position.     Lyons, a two-way big out of Worcester Academy in Massachusetts, was a high level performer this winter while playing in the MIAA. At 6'6", he impacts games with his motor, showing a willingness to make plays in traffic on both ends of the floor. He's an above the rim athlete that can make plays off the bounce, especially when he's attacking the rim. He can finish in a variety of ways and should only continue to improve as he fills out his frame. He's got some defensive versatility and should be capable of guarding in the paint and on the perimeter going forward.     Lee, a skilled big man out of Burlington High School in Massachusetts, makes an impact with his offensive versatility and budding skillset. At 6'8", he has a good frame and plus positional size already, both of which allow him to dominate games inside the paint. He has touch as a low block scorer, shows good passing instincts out of double teams, and even has begun to show some ability to knock down shots from behind the arc. Defensively, he does a nice job of altering and blocking shots around the rim, and uses his athleticism to his advantage as a rebounder.     Lawrence, an athletic big man out of Bridgeport Prep in Connecticut, stands out with his ability to make plays above the rim on both ends of the floor. At 6'8" with long arms, he does a great job of making plays on the defensive end of the floor. He's a high level shot blocker and is disruptive in passing lanes, turning steals into transition scoring opportunities. Offensively, he covers ground quickly with long strides and uses his length as a finisher around the rim. He's a lob threat, rolls hard to the rim out of ball screens, and is a twitchy athlete out of the dunker spot.
