The summer of AAU is winding down as we head towards the end of July and man, what a summer it was for our in-state prospects. We had a host of players in every age group breakout and put their names on a bunch of college coaches radars at nearly all levels. With the summer coming towards an end, I thought it would be a great opportunity for us to take a look at 10 players from the guard, wings, and bigs that I feel should generate more interest when it comes to their recruitment. For this one, we take a look at our second five 2026 guards whose recruitment should boost up a little bit.

By the way things may be shaping up, Minnett may be going into his senior year as arguably the top guy for Avon which is going to result in big numbers. The 6'0 guard is one of the more crafty players we have in the state and is dynamic enough to score at all levels of the floor. Super athletic at the guard spot, Minnett can be a very tough player to keep track of if you are a defender.

Plainfield is coming into the season with high expectations and the head of the snake for them is [player_tooltip player_id='1560946' first='Landon' last='Gilliatt']. A super tough guard that had a strong AAU season with GPP with his high IQ and winning plays. Gilliatt can run an offense, shot from deep, facilitate, and pretty anything you need him to do as a lead guard.

In all reality, arguably the most surprising thing in the 2026 class are the lack of offers from Bloomfield guard [player_tooltip player_id='1560962' first='Blake' last='Neill'] has because this guy can flat out hoop. A true do-it-all type of guard, Neill has excellent size in the backcourt with sneaky athleticism to go with it. Production is the main thing for Neill and that is what he brings to the floor.

One of the bigger guards we have in the state, Leo's [player_tooltip player_id='1744047' first='Nolan' last='Hiteshew'] is a player with big time breakout potential this upcoming season. He is a skilled, quick defender that plays very hard on the floor. He has a playmaker mentality on the ball with an improving three point game that makes him very intriguing as a guard prospect.

A guard that is coming off a very strong summer with Indiana Basketball Club 2026 is Triton Central's [player_tooltip player_id='1561110' first='Elias' last='Sego']. While he is still a bit under-the-radar, Segos a guard that can do a little bit of everything on the floor playing with a high motor and ability to knock down the deep ball as well. He is a top small college guard that should have a strong senior season.
