18p 5r 4a 1s 1b vs Good Counsel

-Harris has really turned heads during the live period, averaging 14p 8r 2a 1s 2b on the wing with wins over stellar Fairfax Christian and St. Andrew's teams. Harris can knock down C+S looks from the perimeter or the midrange but he has really improved his handle to become a much more impactful slasher that can weave through traffic on his way to the rim. His touch around the basket both on floaters and putbacks is also another sign of improvement and the work that he puts in off the floor. A solid athlete with good size and length, Harris is also producing at a pretty high level at the defensive end of the floor as a versatile wing that can guard 2-4. Definitely expect to see a nice bump from him in our updated rankings tomorrow afternoon.

-The athleticism really stood out this weekend on his drives to the basket and the ease with which he recovered well to block shots from behind at the rim. McGee was also relocating to space well and knocking down perimeter jumpers to lead his team in this one. Good body, solid frame, good vertical pop on a 2-handed alley oop finish in transition. Love how aggressive he is defensively, he stays in front of his man without using his hands and generates a ton of steals and deflections to create easy transition points at the other end of the floor.

19p 2r 1a 2s vs Westtown

-The St. Joseph's commit showed his value as a shot-maker in a nice win over Westtown. The senior guard uses screens well to free himself for jumpers but doesn't need them, creating good separation off the bounce as a guard that can hit stepbacks or sidesteps going either direction from either side of the floor. Ranson hit a cold-blooded game winner out of the timeout coming off a double screen to give his team the win. Ranson will be a key piece for a young MSJ team this season looking to regain their place at the top of the mountain and should be a shoo-in for 1st Team All BCL honors.

-There was a lot to like from Ghai in a good win over a gritty Highland group. Thought Ghai did a good job of keeping the ball high in this one to avoid turnovers and get a putback up as soon as he grabbed the rebound. He uses his length to rebound the basketball well and affects a ton of shots around the rim. ACF's defense will be bolstered by how he blankets the rim and deters from ballhandlers from even trying to attack the basket. Jumper looked good on an 18-footer that hit nothing but net and his FT numbers indicate some upside as a traditional big that can be effective in pick n pop scenarios at the next level.

13p 5r 4a 3s (9/10 FT) vs Clinton Grace
-Burnett struggled from the floor in this one but found other ways to impact the game as a rebounder, secondary distributor, and slasher. Burnett uses his length well to jump passing lanes and turned two steals into alley oop lobs at the other end for his teammates. Burnett's ability to pull up on a dime but also knock down open C+S looks on the wing makes him even more valuable as a slashing combo guard that is really difficult to keep out of the paint. Love his tenacious play at the defensive end of the floor and how he uses those deflections/steals to get into a rhythm offensively as a low usage guard.

13p 14r 3b vs DeMatha

-Ponder is an absolute monster of a physical specimen out on the basketball court. The physical big performed very well against a DeMatha frontcourt that has gotten the best out of most of their opponents this summer. Loved the timing, anticipation, and athleticism displayed on several blocks that he raced back in transition to collect. He takes pride in the defensive end of the floor and is learning how to use his physicality to bump drivers and rebounders off their spot without fouling. He is a magnet for rebounds on the offensive glass and has improved his footwork around the basket to pivot for better angles at the rim whether he's finishing with a 2-handed flush or laying it up with either hand off the glass. If his skill level can continue to increase the range on his touch around the basket, he should develop into an even more formidable center prospect. Loved the intangibles of competitiveness and communication whether he was on the floor or cheering from the sideline-- you can tell that he cares about winning and will give his team everything he's got to come away with the W.
